  • nice video...made me smile all the way through....only a matter of time now before i get my safari, looks good. Thanks for posting and congrats on your first coin :)

  • Great video..!!

You should have started with a single tone machine though and moved up later into the Minelab.

Too many distractions with that machine bro.

    Try a Tesoro Silver UMax.

1/8 the price and you'll learn what to listen for.

    Good luck and happy hunting..!!

  • Nice machine - good hunting! Just a suggestion if no one mentioned it yet. Don't spill out the sand. Keep it in the scoop and shake it. The sand falls out and coins, jewelry, etc, will be left in the scoop.

    Regards - Mike

  • @mjcz5853 thanks Mike, that was the plan but with the weight of it being stainless steel along with a scoop full of wet sand the weight makes it is a bit difficult to shake after a while. Sometimes I wish I got the aluminum one. Can't wait to get out onto the beach again!

  • bah i like my bountyhunter 2200...

  • Haha you made me laugh! Great machine! Good luck ;)

  • Welcome to the world of metal detecting!

  • Welcome to the world of metal detecting!

    Looks just like my scoop.

  • Welcome to the world of metal detecting.

I have a whites DFX currently, would like to get a minelab sometime as well.

  • Thanks for the video, now I will know what to expect when I get mine from Kellyco on Monday.

Hope you are still liking yours.

  • great video, thanks for sharing your day one hunting...remember it will even get better...also, when I find my pennies...I do get so excited my wife does not understand that with a penny..lol. tell you what I do with my sand scoop..I shake it to remove the sand and leave the find inside it..makes it easier for me. Keep up the good work...HH

  • nice vid! try to moove the coil closer to the ground.

  • Hey,

Congrats on the new detector and your 1st finds.Welcome to the hobby. You will be hooked very soon...... :0p

  • i strap my safari and gpx4500 to the back of my kawasaki brute force 750i 4x4 quad and im gone the whole weekend, deep off the beaten track where no other detecterists have gone, unreachable by car, and i have found old swords, old musket rifles, you name it , quad detecting is the best.

  • I have an explorer se, e-trac and a gpx4500, but i like the safari it is so good an easy to use, thinking of selling my the se an e-trac, as i only use the safari an gpx, when i go out to the monmouthshire and surrounding areas.the safari is a really really good bit of kit, ideal for someone who does not want to much messing around setting them up.

  • Have a blast treasure hunting!

    Best,

    Chris

  • bye the way you need to get some whellies

  • great machine get your wife one as well & double your finds , nice one.....wayne UK

  • Sorry, I ment to say I purchased the sef coil 12"x15" which in my opinion has improved my finds, even small finds like the stater were found with this, I also got myself a probe to help locate the smaller finds and this has saved me loads of time, more time more finds, good luck.

  • I have been using the safari for nearly 1 year now stick with it and you will not go wrong, The best finds this year have been 3 gold rings, 2 gold half sovereigns and a gold 1/4 stater (65 b.c.) also about 10 hammered silver coins all from the uk, this machine has payed for itself time and again, enjoy.

  • Congrats on your new 'toy'. Be warned though, you will be hooked for life once you find your first silver, gold, or old coin. Happy Hunting and good luck in 2010.

  • Where did you buy that from to recieve all those goodies. Good grief...I thought for a minute there you were gonna pull out some Minelab Currency.!!! That is awesome. I am happy for you. One day I am going to get a Minelab. Good choice on the Safari. Once you lean the tones you will be finding silver in no time. Congrats look forward to seeing you on the treasure forums.

  • Yeah, thought the freebees would be junk but actually really nice stuff and I use it all. Also included was a $50 coupon towards any Minelab product. The other box was a Titan 2000xd (aka Bounty Hunter 2200) I got for $99 which works pretty good but no pinpoint function. Was a Kellyco Bogo deal. Still jazzed about the whole ordeal, it is so much fun even when I find a bottle cap!

  • Try under that pier at low tide often good places to find things nice vid HH

  • Look at that beach, doesn't matter if I find anything or not. Just being there detecting was fun in itself. The other large box in the video that I didn't open was another dector I got for my wife.

  • awesome safari,,happy for you, hope you have fun in learning your sounds and vid number, before you know it youll be haven some gold rings in your pocket, look forward to more videos ,

  • Congrats on the detector. Nice video. Wish I were on the beach right now. keep up the videos and don't get discouraged!!
