And civil unions are not appropriate because they relegate relationships of same-sex partners to a second class status in both legal (you don't get the same rights as a heterosexual couple with a civil union) and societal (the humiliation of being called a 'partner' rather than a 'spouse') situations. Prop 8 doesn't take away any rights of domestic registered same-sex partners, they already have all the rights married couples have.
What Prop 8 does is it protects parent's rights of what schools teach our children about accepting homosexual behavior as normal and acceptable.

What Prop 8 does is it protects parent's rights of what schools teach our children about accepting homosexual behavior as normal and acceptable.
In Massachussetts, some parents are getting sued and arrested because they don't like their kids being taught this in kindergarten--books like "The Prince and the Prince". It's illegal to opt their kids out.

The goverment has been warning them for months now to stop lying and said that their advertisements are false and yet the refuse to stop.

Don't be intimidated by prop 8 supporters. They are trying to scare you. They are trying to threaten you into voting for this constitutional amendment. Even people in their campaign say they are lying to the public. Don't be fool.
