Anytime the center of power is occupied by people instead of laws there is a problem. America is imperfect - everything is. But the idea that Constitution is above any man or group of men is what holds America together. This principle is valued by its citizens. That is what America is. That is WHY America has democracy.

Until Russian culture is permeated with a similar principle: Law/Principles as source of Authority, as opposed to Man, the ground for democracy is not fertile.

Russia is third nation in world when it comes to "national reservers", having 470 billion dollars. First place is China(duh) and Japan number 2. So if you ask me Putin is doing awesome job as president, and things will only get better for Russia and russian people.

Putin has saved the Russian economy and restored her as a world power. Why must he be democratic? People are often idiots and how many actually research into their chosen candidates policies? Yeltsin won the popular vote despite being an incompetant drunk purely on the basis he brought down Communism - but a brave man is not always a good leader.
