To the poster of the clip, how in the world did you make the leap that anyone said the "unborn body" to which you refer was also the woman's? He is referring to a woman's right to decide if she wants to carry what is essentially a parasite in her body for ten months. Between a grown person and what amounts to tissue in the first trimester, I think it should be the woman--the only one with the brain--who has the rights in this situation.
Once I educated myself on late-term abortion, I came to realize that it's a right that needs to be protected even more than abortion in general. Not even a handful of doctors perform them in this country, and you can't just walk in off the street at eight months and have the fetus aborted. There has to be mortal risk to either the woman or fetus if carried to term, and more often than not, it is a devastating loss for mother and father, who wanted the baby if they carried it for that long.

When the birth control pill was introduced in the 60's, it was a CRIME to use it, but it was legalized because it makes sense to PREVENT an unwanted pregnancy rather than to TERMINATE it. We now have countless methods of birth control, and all that is required is for men and women to USE THEM.

I see nothing wrong with taking plan B, or abortion up to a certain time. A mass of cells is not a child. Then there's this family I know who went vegan, but it almost killed their children after three years of it, so they were forced to return to an omnivore diet with plenty of meat. @amanda2324 It starts off as a cell. Obviously as life progresses the cells split. And after more time it becomes human. A fetus can not survive without the mother. It is similar to an organ.

If the pregnancy threatens the mother's life, they tend to figure that out before the fetus can safely be delivered and the abortion has to happen at that point. So there is no "attempt a live delivery," because they can not wait quite that long. They either abort or the mother dies, not wait another four or so months (when the mother is likely to die before that time is up) and see if the baby will make it, because the mother won't.

When the birth control pill was introduced in the 60's, it was a CRIME to use it, but it was legalized because it makes sense to PREVENT an unwanted pregnancy rather than to TERMINATE it. We now have countless methods of birth control, and all that is required is for men and women to USE THEM.
Even the Catholic church 'pretends' it does not know that most Catholics use birth control, & no Catholic has ever been burned at the stake for using it.

And you have to understand for most people it is a difficult choice to make. I think people need to be more aware of controceptives and use it properly. They didn't teach sex ed in high school where I was and no one ever told me that antibiodics can interfere with birthcontrol and I got pregnant. People need sex-ed and common sense.

My grandmother had 15 children, and her only choice was to hide from my grandfather. My mother had 5 children, and her choices were abortion or sterilization. She chose sterilization. I was lucky that in the 70's there were so many ways to PREVENT an unwanted pregnancy: I had one pregnacy, one child. Choice: how to PREVENT it..

I see nothing wrong with taking plan B, or abortion up to a certain time. A mass of cells is not a child. Then there's this family I know who went vegan, but it almost killed their children after three years of it, so they were forced to return to an omnivore diet with plenty of meat. If the pregnancy threatens the mother's life, they tend to figure that out before the fetus can safely be delivered and the abortion has to happen at that point. So there is no "attempt a live delivery," because they can not wait quite that long. They either abort or the mother dies, not wait another four or so months (when the mother is likely to die before that time is up) and see if the baby will make it, because the mother won't.

There are millions of people in the U.S that have plenty of money and a healthy stable life they could provide a child, and they're on waiting lists for infants because there's a shortage of newborn babies. I doubt you have any legitimate research. What it end up is the anti abortion position is faith based while the pro choice is factual. As I've said, if you don't like abortions, dont have one. If you value life so much, then go protest wars and poverty. You'll find many more lives lost from those causes.

@ToastyConner There have been numerous researches, survey's, and experiments done on a woman from before and after having an abortion to see the difference both physcially and emotionally. Many of the tests have rules in the favor that abortion harms a woman. After the abortion, a woman is more likely to go into depression, proven by pyschology studies, and physically it can cause vomitting, nausea, spotting and bleeding.....

@ToastyConner scarring of the uterine lining, damage to other organs and even death. All of these the clinics never tell the woman before having an abortion so she can weigh the question if killing the baby is worth damaging my body to the point where I won't be able have children when I want them.

@ToastyConner Only a fool would believe it's perfectly okay to go around poking, prodding, and tearing through a woman's body with chemicals and hormones and say there's no trauma or damage. And that's just physically. Studies show over 94% of women experience severe depression and sexual issues in their life after an abortion, which is the same problems a woman experiences after rape.
