  • last sunday my pastor played a secular song IN service via the computer on loadspeakers. it was "I'm Coming Out" by diana ross (?) I think.

anyway, whoever it was, I DID NOT AGREE WITH IT NOR DID I APPRECIATE IT.

It's one thing to listen to certain music OUTSIDE the church but at least keep the church with it's historical dignity. spirits come with music (look up john todd's demons in the industry) and we MUST be aware and careful of this. bible tells us to sing a NEW song to God.

  • hey you should change this to he saved my soul Thomas whitfield has another song called Im saved slow deep beautiful song too just a heads up great post though I love every song by TW

  • Has anyone found the lead lyrics to this song. I've been asked to lead and I really can't understand what the lead is singing on the verses...

  • I'M SAVED AND I'M GLAD ABOUT IT!!!! YESSSSS LORD!!!

  • I Wish we could get back to this type of worship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is CHURCH GLORY

  • Say what you wish, but 'OLD SCHOOL" is the best. PERIOD!

  • I absolutely love this song!!!!!! Go head choir!!!!!

  • Good job choir!!!!!!

  • This is an awsome song!!!! Choir did good!!!! It's old school but it's good!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!

  • Yes, another one of the great songs of the past era.

  • Thank you Jesus!!!!!!

  • very much cogic feel

  • A COGIC feel?...what? Do you think God is really concerned about a song feeling "COGIC"? what is it about alot of people that go to COGIC churches? Everything is about being COGIC..I really don't get it. This song is just a spirit feel CHRISTIAN song has nothing to do with COGIC. My Baptist church in Chicago song this song and rocked it and it had nothing to do with the donomination but that they were CHRISTIAN and giving God praise thats all that counts not the denomination

  • @cucomber7 Thank u so much for ur response. To be honest with u, I would take up to much space trying to make some people understand, that all God wants from us is our first love to him, his obedience, to his commandments. He knows all our hearts, and knows where we are in our lives. God know the truth regardless to what religion we are. Be Blessed.

  • This is a great one, another almost forgotten, thanks for the post...!!!

  • Dorothy Jenkins that's my mother everyone and she is still singing the praises of God

  • This song has A real COGIC fell to it.

  • OMG this song is soooo old! lol we used to sing this song at my old church Jones Memorial COGIC in Detroit!!

  • Wow, wow i love this song,

and an old school praise break leading to the end. I might be young but i love old school church. This is what we need to go back to!

  • this is my jam ,and you're absolutely right the new stuff is so awesome ,but its nothing like old school church music ,this is real gospel choir music right here

  • JESUS, JESUS

  • favorite of all time

  • this song was the bum i was in my early teen when i heard this song, praise the lord that im still saved, sanctified, and baptized and filled with the holy ghost. we used to listen to this song and dance !!! ha , ha

  • Detriot gospel music was hot and it is still hot i love it when the organ palys a solo and then the chior sing, im from Mississippi

  • loved this record

  • this is one of my all time favorite songs

  • wow, this song is amazing.

  • Maaaaan, gospel music of this caliber is now a lost art. How many gospel recordings now and days are still using the Hammond that you can actually hear or at all?

  • this is having good old church in DETROIT MICHIGAN one of the best choir from DETROIT beside Donald Vails Voices of Deliverance, St. James Adult Choir,Voices of Tabernacle Choir, Donald Vails Choraleers,Michael Flecters Chorale, Harold Smith and the Masjest, etc. Brother John Huddleston VOD Choir Oct 11,2008 Posting

  • oh my God i was a skinny little teenage kid playing drum in church the last time i heard this song praise God i'm still here to say he saved my soul

  • Man This was a bery hot song!!!

  • R.I.P. Tommy aka "Maestro". His ministry still lives on..AMEN!! We used to have CHURCH back then in the D (Detroit)...community choirs like: Thomas Whitfield & The Company, Michael Fletcher &The Chorale, The Powerful Voices of Praise (PVOP), Michael Minigall 's Communion, Joe Smith's Blessings & Praise, Rudolph Stansfield & New Revelation....those were the days!! I know my church-goers from the D know what I'm talkin about!!

  • oh my gosh! You just brought back so many memories. I used to sing in the 2nd Ebenezer Youth Chorale when we won the gospel fest in the 80's. LOL Church is not like that anymore. We looked forward to everything that church had to offer.

  • You're right..Its like showtime at the Apollo..Lights, Camera, Action-Acting..Worship leaders and praise teams have replaced devotional/leaders..Those old missionaries, mothers and the like that lead devotion back in the day were on a fixed income mostly and faithful to the church and ushered in the presence of the Lord..Now we PAY and FLY IN worship leaders that don't even belong to the church..What really going on in GOD'S HOUSE ?

  • You betta preach!!!!!!

  • I know that's right

  • @waltonall I agree with you, you are so right...!!!

  • Thats right waltonall...Now as for a COGIC sound..Not so sure on that...Actually this was more Spiritual-Pentecostal Baptist....But at the end of the day its good Sunday morning church music something we dont hear much of these days...When Tommy went to sleep it was a loss in more ways than one..Less than 1/2 the music on the radio is even fit for church..Yea how to reach the masses-Im cool with that..But in exchange for what ?????

  • @waltonall the church today has gotten all "hollywood" like and have become "people pleasers" and "politically correct" and in the process, souls are being lost, backslidden, or down right hypocritical IN the church.

reminds of why that one scripture is in the bible that says, "BROAD is the way to destruction and MANY there be that go in but NARROW is the way to righteousness and FEW there be that FIND it.

    so sad. just pray!

  • And those from the CHI know too..Many of us commuted back and forth for that musical spiritual experience..In the CHI, Fellowship, First Church Of Deliverence, Cosmopolitan,Christian Tabernacle, Christ Tabernacle, The Tommies, The Voices Of Praise,The True Voices of Christ,...This is a short list..We wont even talk about LIVE BROADCAST from as early as 10a until 11p on a Sunday nite..In the 70's-80's there were 3 churches on air live at 11pm on a Sunday nite.
