Open tuning a 12 string and using a "hammering on" left hand is producing most of what sounds so amazing to most of you non-musicians, not so much the electronic distortion boxes.

anyone know why he keeps his nails on his right hand so long? I'd imagine its for picking. I gotta say the effect used at 1:26 is pretty intense! love this song

@viperx68 he wears acryllic nails on his right, some guitarists prefer to grow their actual nails but makes a huge hassle if one should break...basically used instead of a pick. Though you can actually fake metal ones for banjos and the like :)

I think he uses his Ibanez Tubescreamer through the Ernie Ball Volume pedal, into his Piezo pickup, not the mag mic. Only guessing, but toe down to get that distorted feedback Sound.
