  • As always Pete, thanks again! This was interesting to me, very actually. In this Utube demo, I thought the original M75 sounded like a blanket over ass during the gain tones, especially In high gain. But, it sounded the best on the cleaner tones....the black backs killed it on the gain, and was ok on the cleans. Between it being YouTube, and tone being subjective, who really knows what they will sound like live with different rigs. But based on this demo, I'm liking the blacks a lot more.

  • Just perfect

  • Great demo Pete. I'm really lovin' the H75 PVC.

  • Hey pete, for van halen to george lynch would you mix m75 and h75 or black back m/h or j's?

  • are these 4x12 or 2x12 cab dems ?

  • what mics were u using?

  • It IS a beautiful guitar but sure 'tis no Junior, English

  • @fendermac yes.... oops haha. It's a Special. It's not mine (it's Jim Seavill's, from Scumback).

  • Pete - well time to get blackjacks now! Did u use the bogner 1x12 cube or that beautiful Suhr 2x12 ?

  • Hey Pete, how would you compare a Suhr modern to the Suhr Reb Beach? Great playing, man

  • h75 Hp for me :)

  • Man, those paper coils are some serious tone monsters!

  • Could you please make a video on the difference cables can have on the speakers?

  • Thanks Pete, that was very effective way of demonstrating the differences in voicing of each particular speaker. My first reaction was "Wow, what a difference". Most people really won't notice a great deal of change, but as for us tone nerds, it will be quite apparent and dramatic.

Thanks again, keep up the quest.

    B.M.

  • Nice brown sound!...Sounds like EVH jammin at home 1974 !! Cool man

    .

  • Blackback M75 all the way.

  • @wammbarro i must agree, thats my new favorite scumback of those ive heard.

  • I have been waiting for this...... : )

  • I liked the Blackback H75 best for the first round, definitely like the Paper Coil H75 for the second round, and the Blackback H75 for the high gain stuff. Is it just me or does the stock M75 just feel dull comparatively? I felt like it had a blanket on it...

  • I got the M75s a couple months back and love them. The more I hear this Suhr SL68 the more I want one. I already have your PT100 best amp I've had to date. It's just perfect and I can wreck a building with it..it's heavy enough. \m/

  • Uh, Pete-think your Junior's a special, no??

  • Preferred the paper voice coil speakers, too. Looking forward to hear you play them.

  • Pete,

Would you consider doing video guitar lessons or guitar lesson dvd's and charging for your service. I really love how you play guitar.

  • Hey Pete,

    Excellent

I like the M75's. They have better tone in my opinion.

  • The regular M75 HP seem to lack some bite and presence compared to the others.

  • @odgeUK That is not the case at all. All of Jim's new production speakers are brighter and more articulate than the original Weber Scumbacks which is good if you thought the originals were dark. I've personally had the new M75HP and BM75HP. The BM75 was too aggressive for me. I'm on the fence on the new M75, I've got a Weber Legacy M75 coming.

  • @THEBANDSALT11 I think we're saying the same thing. The M75 in the video are the one's Pete uses and I think they are darker than these new Blackback speakers that he's demoing.

  • @odgeUK Thanks for doing this! Helpful.

  • I got Guitar Nerd - nice songs, is it you on the cover? Greetings from Brazil

  • @KingTabor Yessir that's me with the bad hair and thick glasses! Thanks for getting Guitar Nerd!

  • Thanks Pete for the demo (again great thing from You). For my taste - Blackback H75 was the best (for my sounds) - will have to seriously think about buying them now :)

  • Great demo Pete - very educational!

  • Oh my the clean tone with the H75s <3

  • Thanks Pete, personally loved the Paper voice coil H75 for everything but the heavy rock tone which I thought was best performed on the Blackback H75 HP. The M75 HP sounded very distant to me though-out. Cheers for a great demo!

  • willthere be a new cd in 2012?

    please..........

  • As always great demo! I liked the Paper Voice Coil M75. It opened up the tone without being to piercing in the highs. Personally I got the regular Scumback M75 65 watt. Gotta order me a Paper Voice Coil M75. :-)

  • Another great demo Pete. The paper voice coil models sounded very smooth but a bit too vintage for my taste. Loved the sound of both blackbacks though - they sounded like they would complement each other very well. Shame you didn't blend them in the video. Hmmm, sorely tempted... back, credit card, back!

Have a great Christmas and New Year!
