As always Pete, thanks again! This was interesting to me, very actually. In this Utube demo, I thought the original M75 sounded like a blanket over ass during the gain tones, especially In high gain. But, it sounded the best on the cleaner tones....the black backs killed it on the gain, and was ok on the cleans. Between it being YouTube, and tone being subjective, who really knows what they will sound like live with different rigs. But based on this demo, I'm liking the blacks a lot more.
Thanks Pete, that was very effective way of demonstrating the differences in voicing of each particular speaker. My first reaction was "Wow, what a difference". Most people really won't notice a great deal of change, but as for us tone nerds, it will be quite apparent and dramatic.
I liked the Blackback H75 best for the first round, definitely like the Paper Coil H75 for the second round, and the Blackback H75 for the high gain stuff. Is it just me or does the stock M75 just feel dull comparatively? I felt like it had a blanket on it...
I got the M75s a couple months back and love them. The more I hear this Suhr SL68 the more I want one. I already have your PT100 best amp I've had to date. It's just perfect and I can wreck a building with it..it's heavy enough. \m/
@odgeUK That is not the case at all. All of Jim's new production speakers are brighter and more articulate than the original Weber Scumbacks which is good if you thought the originals were dark. I've personally had the new M75HP and BM75HP. The BM75 was too aggressive for me. I'm on the fence on the new M75, I've got a Weber Legacy M75 coming.
@THEBANDSALT11 I think we're saying the same thing. The M75 in the video are the one's Pete uses and I think they are darker than these new Blackback speakers that he's demoing.
Thanks Pete for the demo (again great thing from You). For my taste - Blackback H75 was the best (for my sounds) - will have to seriously think about buying them now :)
Thanks Pete, personally loved the Paper voice coil H75 for everything but the heavy rock tone which I thought was best performed on the Blackback H75 HP. The M75 HP sounded very distant to me though-out. Cheers for a great demo!
As always great demo! I liked the Paper Voice Coil M75. It opened up the tone without being to piercing in the highs. Personally I got the regular Scumback M75 65 watt. Gotta order me a Paper Voice Coil M75. :-)
Another great demo Pete. The paper voice coil models sounded very smooth but a bit too vintage for my taste. Loved the sound of both blackbacks though - they sounded like they would complement each other very well. Shame you didn't blend them in the video. Hmmm, sorely tempted... back, credit card, back!

Pete,
Would you consider doing video guitar lessons or guitar lesson dvd's and charging for your service. I really love how you play guitar.

Hey Pete,
Excellent
I like the M75's. They have better tone in my opinion.

The regular M75 HP seem to lack some bite and presence compared to the others.
