See, I think of it a different way. I had been a fan of Long John ever since my grandmother played his remdition of Iko Iko. He was a jolly, good-hearted fellow, and yes, his voice and talent should be legendary in their own right.

But the PINGAS fad didn't detract from his fame. Instead it introduced a whole new generation to this man's legacy and power. I can only hope that the next time someone makes a Robotnik song, that it goes triple platinum in a week.

I saw 'LJB' at the Leeds Odeon when he did a concert with 'Gene Pitney' and 'The Primatives', back in the 60s. I remember I was waiting at the door with the rest of the crowd to go in, and I heard an "Excuse me" from behind me. I turned round and found myself looking at the stomach of a 6' 7" tall person, it was 'LJB', I sad "sorry" and stepped aside for him. The concert was excellent BTW.

Neat song...I like a lot of other 90's Sonic The Hedgehog fans knew this guy as Dr. Robotnik but he has a great set of pipes and I am just now discovering this. ^_^ I'll definitely have to keep my eyes peeled for his music at the store or elsewhere online...^_^
