Even the one they sell that is comparable to a flash hider has been labeled as NOT one by the BATF, they even posted the letter from the BATF on their site to prove it.
Bought one for my DPMS A4, night and day difference, it's amazing and yes it's a comp, not a flash suppressor though they do make one w/ a vortex style flash suppressor at the end, but it doesn't twist like a vortex, and they even claim it to be just enough to keep the flash out of your sights or scope.
The DNTC is a recoil compensator - not a flash suppressor. The first part of the video shows the standard A2 flash hider - the second part shows the effectiveness of the DNTC compensator.
You could get the best of both worlds and get a good sound suppressor for the gun. Reduces recoil AND completely hides the flash. Of course, it's illegal without a license, but there's always a catch, isn't there?
