I wanted to make a Power supply from a PC power supply (for electrolysis of KCl), but I don't know how to fix a supply at the right voltage and amps, can you help me? I've connect the green wire and the ground to each other. But I serious don't know what I have to do now. If I have to buy someting.. can you tell me what I have to buy?
While this is OK for basic stuff, the fact that it is a switchmode power supply ]y means that there is a lot of high frequency garbage coming out of it. A linear power supply is better if you care about noise
This guy is a pimp or something, nice hat, I had one just like it when I was like 16 and I can never find one like it again. Any way I would like to see the variable PSU you got.
OK, I've got a 300 watt ps, I had a code3 mx7000 emergency light bar, 5 rotators ect, and it worked fine. I've tried putting a new ps together, just as you've shown, but when I switch the rotators on, it shuts down. I can get the other lights (with out motors) to work fine... Whats going wrong?
@seansuth from my experance. It seems like you are pulling to
Manny amps from the power supply and it's going in to shut down mode. That's Ill I can see that would be the problem. Try a bigger power supply or do a calculation on your load. thanks, ~Russ
Hi Russ, great videos! I just wound a classical Rodin Coil and have a few questions...
1. Which coil design do you get the most spin from with a neo ball?
2. I'm a complete newbie to electronics. What do you do with the 4 wires on the coil? My interpretation is that there are 2 circuits and one winding should be on while the other is off and they should both alternate on and off at a frequency. The 555 PWM motor control circuit only shows 1 - and 1+ output for the coil. What should I do?
Ive been hung up on Kipkay's How to see in the dark build. Thanks for clearing this up for us. Thank you also for commenting on my bristle bot video. I'm glad you liked it. I will use this video as reference when I do this power supply mod. Tom
This is what I plan on using. I think I even have the old switch type here somewhere. I think they were called AT power supplies, or at least the motherboards were called AT. Good info! Bye snickers :-(
I killed myself trying this!!!
I'm pressing charges.

it might be possible to interfere with the internals of ATX supplies such that they can be varied in voltage, if only within a limited range

PSU can supply
3.3V
5V
7V (+12,+5)
10V(+5,-5)
12V
17V (+5,-12)
24V (Normaly White if your psu as it)

most newer psu need 0-5 wires!
my 1200watt @ 80AMP had 3.3 5v and 12v, grey and orange wire so i had to use a few resistors to make loads on them wires.

pin 14 on mine is GRAY!!!! LOL WTF?

@TheDigitalguyy Over Current? Or how did they burn up? cool stuff! :) ~Russ
rwg42985 1 year ago
@rwg42985 usually by remove the protect on them and hooking them up to large car amps.
