Whoever said no bike can do 220mph better check their facts. 1st year visa could hit 220mph stock, straight off the showroom floor. I've personally seen zx10s hit 210, confirmed by gps, obviously not stock though. When my 08 zx10 hits 189 its really going 176, this is gps confirmed. All speedos are off if you don't have it calibrated.

Speed limiter is implimented in different ways by the manufacturers so bypassing limiter requires different methods. Kawasaki generally limits with gearing and rev limiter. Suzuki by speed and gear indicator. Honda by gearing and rev limiter. Yamaha I don't know.
This is coming from a Kawasaki certified tech. The speedo on my 05 636 said 187 right as it hit redline. so i figure it was doing about 170 realistically. the reason speedos stop at 189 is because all bikes are limited to 189MPH from the factory, do some research and you will find how to euro mod the ECU and bypass the limiter.
my zx6r the speedo says 181mph... and theres a vid on youtube of one saying 181mph too, the speedo must be miles out, but i bet the zx10r does atcually do a real speed of 181mph plus...

I just bought a zx6r 2009 Brand New, Monster Edition and at 16K rpm I am hitting 86 MPH in 1st Gear... I would guess that a zx10r would surpass that easily... To be honest I would be scared to have a 10r because it is stupid fast and stupid powerful... Wheelies in 1st 2nd and 3rd...
My zx6r might wheelie in 1st unless I do it on purpose. Never the less the 10r is a great bike.. And maybe once I get a couple more Riding years under me I will get one...

There is a device called a "speedometer" located on the front wheel that can get thrown off by tampering or by simply putting the wrong tire size on your bike. I am saying this guys Speedo is off because at the end he slows down to 100 mph and is going with traffic. Notice the red pickup truck. Do you think that pick up is doing 100 mph? Also, the gearing to speed and acceleration does not seem right.

Close ratio gearboxes are indeed stock. You shave the tranny gears for the track though, widen them. To much tourqe leaving corners just lights the rear end up.

honestly its whatever you want. take a look at my bike videos, obviously you dont need more power than a 600 but do you want more power well of course everyone does eventually. i have been riding 600's for about three years now still so much fun and amazing power. you will beat everything with four wheels with a 600 so no worries there. with a thousand you lose a little but of handling and you must learn alot better throttle control. any other questions or need any help just send me a message.
light years faster!!!!! if that is the bike your use to i suggest finding a buddy who has at least a fuel injected rocket somewhere 2003+ years would be a good comparo or if you have a dealer that allows test rides. but i had a 1998 cbr 600 F3 then got my 2004 zx6r and it was a huge huge power difference.
if you wanna comute on highways get a 1000 sport touring , if your gonna comute in the city get a 750 or more naked..Dont buy 600 because they just have the grunt.and if u wanna 600 to pull u got to rew it by the time your doing 100 miles atlest and thats pretty dumb to do in the city.

That was not top speed of this bike. Speedo stops at 189, but rpm go still up, so you have to wait and recount from rpm, it should be like 205 mph. Of course not real speed, as speedo shows more for about 5-6%.

These speedos are way off. The bike stock only gets to about 186 MPH, yet it indicates close to 200 MPH. I installed a Speedo Healer on mine and now what used to be "184 MPH" is only 166 MPH. It kind of disappoints but at the same time, you're not putting so many miles on the bike.

I have a geared and extended (4 inches) '06 10R with GIpro and A&R baffles and I've only achieved 180 MPH indicated before getting too much headshake. Does it happen to you? At 168 MPH, the front gets very light and I get headshake. I have to hold the handlebars tight, lean forward and lock the fuel tank with my elbows just so I don't become roadkill. At that speed, I thought I was going to wipe out. How do you manage to go so fast and smooth?

IT IS "MPH" All 1000's are governed at 189mph.... and there not 20% off to whomever said that bullshit there 4% or less 189mph on a new bike is roughly inbetween 177-181mph.... look it up! before you start blabering...

i second that. the factory must calibrate the speedo within a tolerance. if the speedo was off 15-20% then you would think there would be a recall. if your speedo if off 20%, then you more then likely have one tooth down in the front, or you have two teeth up in the back.

Top speed on bikes like that are really about 155 or so the error in the speedo is more like 20 percent. Ungovorned it will reach about 181 and thats it.
So I knew that I recognized the area. Its the 55 North from Newport blvd. I,ll give it to you . You have Balls runing that fast during the day on that stretch of raod. CHP is everywhere. The 10R UNLESS there is a speedohealer should read Much Faster then 189mph. I have an 06 636 and run top speeds that the FI light shuts the bike down on..at 186 EVERYTIME...obviously not doin 186, but you have to allow for correction...a 10R thats not corrected should read 200 a true speed of about 175-180
Do you have a TRE or 300 eliminator?? My 06 gsxr 1000 is governed at 186 in both 5th and 6th...I didn't even know the newer bikes speedos could read over 186.
the speedo will read over 189 thats just the governer on the bike. my zx10r will read over 189 acutally it will read 203. but there is a pretty cheap way to take the governer off.
Well bikes do have speedo error, like about 10%. So if the bike indicates 100 mph, 10% of that is 10 miles, so the bike was probably doing 90. So the truck being even with him isn't a big deal. A lot of people do >90 mph on the interstate all the time.

you almost never ride these bikes at full throttle, 600 or 1000 ccm, it's almost the same, mostly if you're a beginner...

That was not top speed of this bike. Speedo stops at 189, but rpm go still up, so you have to wait and recount from rpm, it should be like 205 mph. Of course not real speed, as speedo shows more for about 5-6%.

These speedos are way off. The bike stock only gets to about 186 MPH, yet it indicates close to 200 MPH. I installed a Speedo Healer on mine and now what used to be "184 MPH" is only 166 MPH. It kind of disappoints but at the same time, you're not putting so many miles on the bike.

I have a geared and extended (4 inches) '06 10R with GIpro and A&R baffles and I've only achieved 180 MPH indicated before getting too much headshake. Does it happen to you? At 168 MPH, the front gets very light and I get headshake. I have to hold the handlebars tight, lean forward and lock the fuel tank with my elbows just so I don't become roadkill. At that speed, I thought I was going to wipe out. How do you manage to go so fast and smooth?

I have this exact bike but 07 the only thing they did different in 07 was flames on black speacial edition... IT IS "MPH" All 1000's are governed at 189mph.... and there not 20% off to whomever said that bullshit there 4% or less 189mph on a new bike is roughly inbetween 177-181mph.... look it up! before you start blabering...

i second that. the factory must calibrate the speedo within a tolerance. if the speedo was off 15-20% then you would think there would be a recall. if your speedo if off 20%, then you more then likely have one tooth down in the front, or you have two teeth up in the back.

Top speed on bikes like that are really about 155 or so the error in the speedo is more like 20 percent. Ungovorned it will reach about 181 and thats it.

So I knew that I recognized the area. Its the 55 North from Newport blvd. I,ll give it to you . You have Balls runing that fast during the day on that stretch of raod. CHP is everywhere. I 2007 ZX 10R only did 120 through there on the way to champion. Great video hope to see you on the road sometime.

The 10R UNLESS there is a speedohealer should read Much Faster then 189mph. I have an 06 636 and run top speeds that the FI light shuts the bike down on..at 186 EVERYTIME...obviously not doin 186, but you have to allow for correction...a 10R thats not corrected should read 200 a true speed of about 175-180

Do you have a TRE or 300 eliminator?? My 06 gsxr 1000 is governed at 186 in both 5th and 6th...I didn't even know the newer bikes speedos could read over 186.

the speedo will read over 189 thats just the governer on the bike. my zx10r will read over 189 acutally it will read 203. but there is a pretty cheap way to take the governer off.

6th gear at redline (13K on '05 model) on a ZX10R is very close to 200mph only slightly varied by gearing. Look at the tac and count the shifts.

Well bikes do have speedo error, like about 10%. So if the bike indicates 100 mph, 10% of that is 10 miles, so the bike was probably doing 90. So the truck being even with him isn't a big deal. A lot of people do >90 mph on the interstate all the time.

If he was going 175mph the cars ambiance would be passing alot faster than that, + the freeway in LA is full of potholes and would destroy any chances of living past 120mph, this has to be KPH and not the top speed
