I know that this is not the enterprise, but I almost expected voyager to have some kind of opening line.... Space the final frontier these are the voyages of the starship voyager her ongoing mission to explore unknown worlds to seek out anyway to get home..... But they didn't but that is also what makes voyager special. I like this opening, honestly I hum pretty much every startrek opening every day.
i maybe watched 3 or 4 episodes of this show as a kid but the theme song is still branded into my mind it resonates with my longing for the stars and to explore strange civilizations to go where no man has gone before :D
Out of all of the Star Trek Theme Songs The Voyager Theme was the best. It's heroic and majestic and fitting for the opening credits of the show. This Theme was written by the late Jerry Goldsmith who also scored Star Trek First Contact. what a blessed man God bless his Soul.
Here, here. This reminds me why Jerry Goldsmith is the best film/television composer of his era. Just brilliant orchestration with such memorable melodies. Clearly, themes from beyond this world.
@artistsmooth1 AMEN BROTHER !!! There will never be another Jerry Goldsmith ... His music was the Star Trek of my childhood !!! ... Props to Micahel Giachinno on JJ Abram's Star Trek 2009 though ... I think Jerry would have been proud!
I have actualy played the lead trumpet part for this song and it is amazing and actualy sends a shiver down my spine and tears to my eyes when I hear it :)
What will the USS Voyager be like in the New Altered Timeline ?Will it be Flung 150,000 Light Years away fro mEarth to make it's Trip home just as Interesting ?
Will it have Starship Separation Capability ? Better Shaped Warp Nacelles ? What New Tech will Captain Janeway have aboard ? :-)
Really great series! But the ending to the final episode was just to basic and boring. All you see is Voyager get home, nothing else. Not how everything went after they landed and stuff.
@starflame34 But that's what Voyager was about, them being lost and finally getting home. Not what happened afterward. Save that for books and fanfics.
@AngemonRulez I agree the voyage was the story, and we got to know the crew so well we can imagine what they did next for ourselves! using imagination!!
@AngemonRulez acctually, there was one episode, where admiral janeway (thats the captain, she got promoted) went back in time to get them back earlier, and lt.barclay blamed thier dissapearance on the borg. i remember because the doctor called himself 'joe'.
@starflame34 first off..thats what was supposed to happen. its aobut GETTING home not the actual home itself. seconldy...you can easilly get what you're looking for in star trek movie "nemesis" you wont SEE it but you'll hear about what happened to the ship after they came home....
@starflame34 In a way I would of liked to see the series end without them getting home. As a way of saying 'It's not the destination, but the journey that it takes to get there that matters'
@AngemonRulez I am transposing a duet of this song for a friend of mine and I. Would it be illegal to play that song for fun lets say during the Comic Con? Or to just play on the street?
@XafrojewfroX No not at all. Just so long as you are not claiming the music as your own. But lots of ppl sing to a preexisting song. It's not illegal.
Jay Chattaway composed it. He did music for many of the Star Trek films, and many others as well. He's done a ton of film music; check out his compositions sometime, he's an amazing composer who sadly passed away ~2004 or so.
Correction: I said Jay Chattaway; that is not true. It was Jerry Goldsmith, as winnerkid1 said. Chattaway is noteworthy for composing the "The Inner Light" flute/recorder piece from the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode of the same name.
Everywhere I look any of the Star Trek series go for at least 60 to 70$ and that's just for seperate seasons, I love star trek but come on, hell I saw Tng entire series for 149$ in a dvd magazine but you have to be a member and I don't have a credit card yet....and I really want them:(
@anima469968 Your best bet is ebay or an online community like ebay. I bought Voyager, the entire series for just under 150 dollars. You cannot rely on these other stores that sell each season for a very expensive amount.
@anima469968 dude netflix. it may be $17 a month now, but you can watch voyager, enterprise, original star trek and the next deneration. You're talkin, well over $500 for all these, but all you pay is 17. Plus the 2009 star trek movie, possibly the BEST star trek movie ever made. Get netflix, great quality.
@minigolfer101 Plus they have also put more old tv shows I grew up watching on instant play which is really nice. I think I will have to continue my subscription... I wonder what else they will put up as time goes on.
No doubts about it. This is the theme that represents humanity's desire to explore space.
I sincerely hope they play this theme as the launching theme when we finally are able to traverse space freely. As a tribute to this wonderful series that has inspired so many people, in so many ways, when it comes to space, and space exploration.
Voyager was the best by far, it had so much more to it than the other shows, more heart, more action and more interesting stories. The others were exceptional too, but Voyager will always top them.
I've had the pleasure of hearing this live on a couple of occasions - both were the London Symphony Orchestra with Jerry Goldsmith conducting. That's something I'll never forget.
While that exact combination is no longer possible, I would recommend anyone to keep an eye out for local orchestras playing such music.
For fans that preach acceptance, a lot of you keep putting down people that only watch Enterprise, I started watching it last year, it's the show that got me into Star Trek, and it's the only one I watch, believe it on not, it's the show that is pulling in the new generation of fans, so as much as you love whatever series you watch, just realize that when you put down Enterprise, your making us feel the same way that non-trekkies make you feel when you tell them you watch Star Trek.
the thing i like about star trek voyager was the story line kept me comeing back every week it was action packed i remember hearing gean rodenberry had passed away he didnt get to see the other star trek shows being made i for one am a fan of star trek ds9 and voyager
Das schönste Theme aller Star Trek Serien, schade das es keinen Kinofilm von Captain Janeway und ihrer Mannschaft gegeben hat. Aber die Serie is schon auch geil^^

I've been a "Trekkie" all my life and many of my friends and family have come around after years of poking fun at me. I think that people always have the late night tv parodies in mind when they think of Star Trek, but after actually watching it they find that there are few shows with such quality in concept and storyline. My wife didn't watch Star Trek at all until we started dating, I started her out with TNG (my favorite) and now she's loves them all... except Enterprise, but who does?
Ive been watching star trek since i was a tiny little girl with my big brothers who were fanatical. they had all the collectors stuff. I really appreciated them exposing me to these kind of shows growing up because it was what created my interest in Astronomy. Thanks big brothers

I only started watching star trek about 2-3 years ago after catching an episode when i was bored one day. Then I decided to buy a whole box set of the next generation. Then i bought deep space nine. Now im working on Voyager and the original series. The original series is pretty awesome really. Not sure if ill get enterprise.
Voyager theme is my favorite followed by the next generation. Then Again I love them all.
@Rohke8 I did the same thing you did. Bought several series, but didn't want to buy another. I wound up buying them all(minus TOS) and I haven't regretted it.
I have all the seasons on dvd, I have to get TOS next.
I watched TOS and TNG as a chind, and found it again when i watched TNG as a teenager. Then i found this local Star Trek club and i saw Voyager there. Now i love them all but i guess TNG will always be my fav cause that was when i "refound" my love for Star Trek.. it also has the best theme but Voyager is pretty close.. I think the new movie also have some pretty awesome music and i like the new theme song in it.
@Rohke8 yeah dont get enterprise, too much crap. i mean c'mon, a female vulcan sleepin with another officer? no, theres only one good episode in all of enterprise the one where they explain why in original series theres no ridges on the klingons
@77purplepunk Obviously you're new to the Star Trek franchise. In 1967 Leonard Nimoy, playing 'Spock' - 1st and Science Officer to Captain Kirk, went into a berserk rage in the episode 'Amok Time'. (Happens every 7 or so years goes the story) All the emotions come out - something to do with the urge to mate.
Heck, did you think Vulcans reproduced by In-vitro-fertilization?
For T'Pol to exhibit the same behaviour is ... well .... only logical.
@lp115lp yeah but that lil' mating period only last a week or so (atleast it did in voyager with tuvok) and doesnt go on for half the series. ill admit im exaggerating alittle, but 1) i dont want to watch a show that has aliens being sluts all the time 2) shes a vulcan for crying out loud!!!!! spock's supposed to be half-human and he was 5 times the vulcan t'pal is.
if u want a show to have sex-appeal, at the very least dont make the vulcan be it.
Have fun. It's very hard to call a favorite episode. I have all of them. Enterprise never could hold my attention at all. The main character lacked any appeal. Not to offend Enterprise Trekkers but Enterprise was like another type of series. It is a turn off.
@Rohke8 It's funny I ended up doing a similar thing as you. I'm a huge Netflix guy & out of all the dvd's I watch I usually fast forward through the opening song/credits - this is the only song that I would listen to for each and every episode. Jerry Goldsmith was truly a master.
@Rohke8 Same for me, when I open the TV and go on random channels, I saw Star Trek Voyager on air. I decide to watch it for a moment but then I watch it all episode every day.
I love Voyager! My fav series. Music is great :) First episode I watched from the Alternate Realities pack was "Shattered" I saw Chakotays tattoo and thought it was a cyborg part, then I saw Icheb, then I saw Seven, and I was like "Is this a show of robots" haha...Best series ever.
I haven't even seen this series yet (I'm a newly converted Trekkie after watching the 2009 film so I'm working my way through them all right now. Currently in the middle of TNG) but oh my god this makes me want to so badly. I keep listening to this theme over and over on repeat. BEAUTIFUL.
@fadsforwhatever We mirror each other. Voyager got me hooked on the franchise. I bought Voyager on dvd, then bought Enterprise, Deep Space Nine, TNG I just finished a couple months ago, next up is the original series, then I'm gonna work on buying all the movies.
@fadsforwhatever Hi. I was brought up on the original series and then the movies came. TNG was great and DS9 an unusual twist but when Voyager happened it was, by my thoughts the best of everything. Amazing writing and stories around the concept of lost in space. Hen that them by Jerry Goldsmith really crowned it.
...for me Star Trek Voyager was one of the best Star Trek and Sci-Fi series ever, because of the series i become a so called Treki and Sci-Fi-Fan...
...i watched every season and i liked it so mutch( i hope that someone will produce another Star Trek series in the future with new characters and ships)...very very well done...P.S.:...the music is one of the best pieces i´d ever heard...love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, this song is so deep that I even get that slightly clogged feeling that you get from things like national pride, seeing your first invention succeed, your crush accepting you (never happened to me, sadly), and things of that nature. I love this song.
I like this upload, but the video that goes along with the audio is also fairly spectacular. I will mainly be using this as background music, so that doesn't matter very much, but I still like the video. Very soothing.
@beethovenkingofmusic Don't worry, that is the only word that I know in any language other than English in the Star Trek Universe. I never use, for I don't know the English translation, and I don't want to say it to anybody who knows, and find out that I just cussed them out. If you know the translation, I would be glad to hear it.
@Mirinovic I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi! I'm a Ferengi!
Series: To me yes, but more TNG and TOS Episodes were great than the spattering in VOY. however over all I felt it had more to give and not suck.
Best Captain: She had her moments. However I think Sisko was the best followed by Kirk then Janeway then Picard. .......... Ransom, Archer, Wesley.
Ship: Oh hands down... Though I liked 1701-A's quirks more. That may be for some reason Voyager felt more like a vessel should than the D or even E. She was more real i think
I'm a huge TOS and TNG fan, and I never got around to watching a lot of Voyager, but this theme always gave me the major goosebumps as a kid. It still does.

Not all Vulcans are the same. They each have their struggles. Hell, remember Tuvok as a boy in Gravity?

@77purplepunk Obviously you're new to the Star Trek franchise. In 1967 Leonard Nimoy, playing 'Spock' - 1st and Science Officer to Captain Kirk, went into a berserk rage in the episode 'Amok Time'. (Happens every 7 or so years goes the story) All the emotions come out - something to do with the urge to mate.
Heck, did you think Vulcans reproduced by In-vitro-fertilization?
For T'Pol to exhibit the same behaviour is ... well .... only logical.
lp115lp 1 year ago
@lp115lp yeah but that lil' mating period only last a week or so (atleast it did in voyager with tuvok) and doesnt go on for half the series. ill admit im exaggerating alittle, but 1) i dont want to watch a show that has aliens being sluts all the time 2) shes a vulcan for crying out loud!!!!! spock's supposed to be half-human and he was 5 times the vulcan t'pal is.
if u want a show to have sex-appeal, at the very least dont make the vulcan be it.
77purplepunk 1 year ago
@77purplepunk Nonsense! Enterprise is great! The only reason T'Pol was like that is coz she was addicted to Trilium! And couldnt stop her emotions.

@Rohke8
Have fun. It's very hard to call a favorite episode. I have all of them. Enterprise never could hold my attention at all. The main character lacked any appeal. Not to offend Enterprise Trekkers but Enterprise was like another type of series. It is a turn off.
writersallages1 1 year ago
@Rohke8 get Enterprise. it destroys Ds9 and Voyager. and the original is too old to compare fairly.
TheTaskmaster 1 year ago
@Rohke8 me, i grew up with star trek, no choice in the matter, i love it haha
77purplepunk 1 year ago
@Rohke8 Enterprise isn't too bad, actually.
WeAreDevo456 1 year ago
@Rohke8 It's funny I ended up doing a similar thing as you. I'm a huge Netflix guy & out of all the dvd's I watch I usually fast forward through the opening song/credits - this is the only song that I would listen to for each and every episode. Jerry Goldsmith was truly a master.
JosephBurns108 11 months ago
@Rohke8 Same for me, when I open the TV and go on random channels, I saw Star Trek Voyager on air. I decide to watch it for a moment but then I watch it all episode every day.
kklau123456 8 months ago
@Rohke8 Give Enterprise a chance :-), I've really enjoyed it so far and can't really find any fault with it as a good yarn.

Voyager is supreme for me out of the extension of the franchise. Amazing series.
ScriptWorker 1 year ago
I haven't even seen this series yet (I'm a newly converted Trekkie after watching the 2009 film so I'm working my way through them all right now. Currently in the middle of TNG) but oh my god this makes me want to so badly. I keep listening to this theme over and over on repeat. BEAUTIFUL.
fadsforwhatever 1 year ago 13
@fadsforwhatever We mirror each other. Voyager got me hooked on the franchise. I bought Voyager on dvd, then bought Enterprise, Deep Space Nine, TNG I just finished a couple months ago, next up is the original series, then I'm gonna work on buying all the movies.
AngemonRulez 1 year ago
@AngemonRulez Really? That's pretty funny! I can't speak for the TNG movies but the Wrath of Khan is excellent.
fadsforwhatever 1 year ago
@fadsforwhatever Hi. I was brought up on the original series and then the movies came. TNG was great and DS9 an unusual twist but when Voyager happened it was, by my thoughts the best of everything. Amazing writing and stories around the concept of lost in space. Hen that them by Jerry Goldsmith really crowned it.
Welcome aboard.

Indeed Star Trek Voyager is the best series with the best characters anyone who disagrees are P' Taks (Klingon insults)

beethovenkingofmusic 1 year ago
@beethovenkingofmusic Don't worry, that is the only word that I know in any language other than English in the Star Trek Universe. I never use, for I don't know the English translation, and I don't want to say it to anybody who knows, and find out that I just cussed them out. If you know the translation, I would be glad to hear it.

The Best species by Far in Star Trek worlds are The Ferengii They are behaving just like the majority of the Bankers on Wall Street.
Fact: One holy site on Earth is Wall street for the Ferengii
All of the 286 Ferengi Rules of Acquisition can be applied to almost all Bankers on Wall Street, London Financial District & Hong Kong!!!!

@stotoolbox Theme: HELL YES!

@stotoolbox yes a great captain, but picard is better no doubt.
