Did the probes themselves not cast a shadow on the surface as they took pictures. Haha and the guy in the video said the shadows were moving...why, so was the probe.

wtf are you talking about? The Soviet Phobos probes were indeed headed to the Martian moon of Phobos but the photos are taken of the Martian surface while orbiting Mars. The video says so several times. Both of the Martian moons orbit Mars at very close orbits. I think the farther one is something in the area of 20-30k km. Both of the moons are also tiny.

As I have said before the shadow is the moon Phobos and almost every probe sent to mars has photographed the shadow.

@SPYK3O FYI,many,many things about the "moons" of Mars remain inexplicable just like many,many aspects of our own "moon". They are all artificial constructions. Time to wake up out of your slumber. FYI both "tiny moons" of Mars were named "Phobus"- FEAR and "Demos"- TERROR. Odd names for astral bodies...would'nt you say? Why? Because when they were first seen by American astronomer Asaph Hall in 1877,it scared him shitless as they were never seen before and suddenly appeared from no where.

No Phobos and Deimos are not odd names for the moons of Mars. Mars was the Roman god of war and Phobos and Deimos were the sons of the Greek god of war Ares and Ares' sons accompanied him everywhere. Seeing as the Greek god of war Ares was essentially the same deity as the Roman god of war Mars this makes sense.

The moon of the Earth is known to be almost the same age of the Earth. I don't need to wake up you need to give me some of whatever you are on.

It is obvious that the shape that one phobos satelite picked up and the shadow on phobos surface are a very long spacecraft ... beside the shadow was moving across the surface of phobos ..... how many more evidence peoples needs to understand in their small primitive delusional brain that we are not ALONE !!!

It is the shadow of one of the moons, probably Phobos. Every probe to orbit Mars and photograph the surface has seen these. This is supported by the fact that the shadow changes length depending on the orientation of the sun, Phobos, and the surface of Mars. The probes lost contact because they were Soviet made in the 70's.

interesting that the shadow started moving, because that narrows it down to an object in the upper atmosphere or a crystal or a magnetic particle attached its self to the lens, causing a shadow affect. Small objects on the outside of lens can look like transparent blurs.

The oval shadow was caused by the long time exposure of the camera, so Phobos' shadow would be elongated. Good documentary, though. I have made a documentary about Phobos and Deimos in my 'Wonders of our Star System' series, if you are interested

If it were due to long time exposure then the image of Mars in the background would also be over exposed and smudged..it isnt' therefore its' not?

If the spacecraft that took the image was in a geostationary orbit of Mars, the image of Mars would not be smudged. Phobos orbits Mars faster than Mars rotates, so it's shadow would appear to be moving relative to Mars, which would appear not to. Therefore a long time exposure could cause the smudge
