  • Thanks a lot Larry.

Could you tell why you didn't use an adjustment layer or a layer mask for this kind of adjustment?

  • @jaideepsinghsidhu Great question. There are certainly many other ways to accomplish things in Photoshop. I was just trying to demonstrate this method. It really depends on your personal preference and what works best with each image. Thanks for commenting!

  • @LourceyPhotography

    Thanks again Larry!

  • Great, the way so the techiques.. go ahead with it !! :-)

  • Loved how you didn't just say do this and that. You took the time to demonstrate what each one did and the outcome. Much appreciated.

  • Hey Larry. Can you show me how to vectorise a JPG image? Thanks

  • Good tutorial to explain photoshop functions...but there are so many better ways to make photos sharper!

  • @koolmind81 I agree. There are tons of ways to sharpen in PS, but I think "better" depends on the image. For me - this method gets good fast results most of the time. There are also plenty of third party programs to choose from - but this gets it done for me. At least most of the time! Thanks for commenting.

  • @koolmind81 Kool info, the more you know the more you grow.Until now I was only using the first two methodsThanks

  • Larry, your tutorials are much easier to follow and understand than those you pay a monthly fee online. Thank you very much and keep up the good working. I'm your fan.

  • @RubinGnoni Thanks for the kind words. Please subscribe and check back often!!

  • @awp20rokhum Thanks awp!

  • What's the difference between the fade and changing the opacity of the layer, and what is the point of moving the slider down, before changing the mode?

  • @reptedjess The opacity just makes the layer more transparent. The fade changes the WAY that the sharpening affects the image - much the same way as how blending modes affect how a layer changes the layer below it. By lowering the slider to 0, you are removing the sharpening from the normal image. Once you change to luminosity and start bringing it back up, you are changing the way that you sharpen the image. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure of why it works - I just like the look.

  • Great as always!!!

  • @Stealth42o Thanks Stealth!

  • @LourceyPhotography No, thank you. Been using Photoshop for about 8 years now. Self taught. I am still amazed at all there is to learn. Your tutorials are gems and I look forward to each of them! Again, thanks!
