I agree - "australian values" is a platitude used to justify a war on terror, smashing unions, punishing the poor, and destroying the environment. Real Australian values - a fair go, helping a mate, acceptance, egalitarianism - these are being passed over for the hollow sound byte that is now "australian values". Actually it isn't even hollow - it is sinister and divisive.
I'm not getting paid for them - making these animations is part of my research into political cartoons and new media. As for my beliefs, I don't make anything I don't believe in. Political satire in general tends to focus on lampooning the government of the day; it's a fair bet that if Labor wins the next election I'll have a bit to say about those blokes too.
Ok, I see where you're going with this. You don't like the liberal party and blame everything on them. Unfortunately there's always going to be shit, that's life. I would much prefer to see vids of positive action instead of how bad the situations are which we already know.
My political animations continue the satirical tradition of political cartoons in the print media, so I'm afriad you won't get much joy out of them if it's positive action you're after. This set of four animations/videos is really one work offering different takes on 'Australian Values', which was a national dialogue the Coalition government initiated in 2006.
