I heard that they were considering Michael Douglas for this role. Impossible - only Bruce Willis could play it! Hartigan is as close to a hero as we get in Sin City, and Bruce Willis manages to convey a sense of honor unlike any other character in the movie and a real tenderness for Nancy... perfect.

That's a great look she gives him when she spots him at first, if I could fall for any older guy it'd be Bruce Willis, he's eternally sexy. I read he felt nervous about kissing her, probably because there's like a 26 year age gap so no wonder lol but I'm glad they didn't cut it out because these 2 are my favourite characters in the film & my favourite story. I think this is the best scene in the movie. The perspective shot with Hartigan in the foreground and Nancy in the back is right out of the comic and looks amazing. I love how they wash out all color as he realizes he's lead them to her. The music is absolutely perfect as well.
