Are you shittingme?...I want to listen to GREAT music, andI get freaking political commercials?...Come on...The artists should have a problem wit this...Yes?...No matter who we vote for,a politician will be elected
This has been my favourite song - of PG's and of all time - since I was 9 years old... I'm 32 and it's still just as fresh today as it's ever been. There's no one like Peter Gabriel.
8 people drowned in the red rain and accidentally hit the dislike button. Who can dislike Peter Gabriel? No one. I saw him live and it was the best concert i've ever gone to. Truly amazing artist.
turns out petey has been misleading when some have thought him to be "religious" in some lyrical content.Turns out after some not even scrupulous investigation that he's ben using Illuminati symbolism on the majority of his album covers and images.Don't think so?Look into it.There he is displaying the typical"one eyed crap" on most of the covers.Just like all the other scum bags that do the same thing recently. What an ASSHOLE.

Ive been a longtime fan of dave matthews, and have recently started getting into Peter Gabriel, and to me its obvious that dave was inspired in some way by Peter Gabriel, i hear some similiarities in their music. Im not saying ones better than the other, thats all opinion, so dont bash me saying one sucks or whatever, i just hear a little peter gabriel in dave, which is great cause this man is awesome.
So much of my childhood is intertwined in this album... My mother used to listen to this and The Summoner's Tale by Sting, all the time. It's a shame that my family has pretty much fallen apart. This album to this day still has a special place in my heart and now that I'm older... I can appreciate the genius and beauty in Peter Gabriel's lyrics. Thank you very much for posting this song.
It's been forever since I heard this song. I remember purchasing this album on cassette tape and playing it ceaselessly. The entire album is musical perfection.
I remember my mother playing the entire So album when she cleaned the house on the weekends; I grew up with the great influence that is Peter Gabriel. As I got older, I realized that no one that I knew listened to PG, and no one could relate to how great his music was. What an ispiration he was to me and everyone who knows his music after Genesis.

@throbbingmember and @madeias14: I wondered the same thing until it became obvious that it's gotta be a cheap publicity ploy; in today's infotainment universe, any exposure is good exposure. I've never heard one song from any of these people yet they're forced into my consciousness as I listen/watch anyone from The Beatles to James Brown to Dinah Shore to Keith Jarrett to etc. It's one thing to OCCASIONALLY see a comparison/knock post but on EVERY SONG and the top post to boot? C'mon son!
"So" was one of the best albums of the 80s. It combined PG's amazing lyrics & vocals with superb instrumentation. The world needs more music like this. Pop music is these days a hollow, vapid shell of its former self.
@NormanBatesRocks911 yes you may be experiencing troubles. but not till your heart is broke many times do you know what red rain is. sometimes the best way to fight is to step back.

@darthmethodist BITCH YOU ARE GAY!!! Whats the point of going out to find a song just to dislike it (unless its Justin Beiber or Rebbeca Black, who deserve all people can throw at them (including water bottles)). i mean come on people. Why?
@darthmethodist it's ok. I'm a professional Peter Gabriel fan, this song is really annoying. Worst part is in the last 4 minutes where he reiterates Red Rain over and over again.

WHAT SAD IS THAT WHEN I WAS 14,15,16,17, WE HAD HENDRIX,GENESIS,WEATHER REPORT,YES,ELP,BILLY COBHAM,MILES,TONY WILLIAMS,FUNKADELIC-AND WE UNDERSTAND THE DEPTH OF ALL THIS MUSIC-SO AT A YOUNG AGE OUR MINDS WERE ALREADY FEELING A DEEPER MEANING OF MUSIC BECAUSE THAT WHAT WE GREW UP ON-THIS BUBBLE GUM SHIT THAT OUT NOW IS NOT AS MUSICAL OR DEEP IN MEANING--MAYBE FOR THIS GENERATION-BUT THE MUSICAL EFFORTS DO NOT COMPARE TO THAT ERA...THE MUSIC IN ONE SENSE DOES NOT CHALLENGE YOUNGSTERS NOW
