To all nay-saying commentators: to see this early masterpiece by 1 of the greatest, most creative figures in world cinema under any circumstances is a treat & a boon...& this sndtrk. is actually quite creatively done, if somewhat anachronistic (& I say this as a devotee of Erik Satie, as well)... this glass is well more than half-full. Brilliante!!
The scene of people running after the funeral coach foreshadows the final scene of Miklós Jancsó's film "Vizi privati, pubbliche virtu" (1976), in which a brass band runs after the crown prince's coffin.
