  • He's not wearing his kilt yet you idiots its his under garment he was showing the people how to make a "great kilt".

  • @boardertotheline That is not a undergarment! It's a Great kilt, it's just gray (or appears to be)! He is demonstrating how to pleat it.

  • I think it was a fine demonstration. Explained well enough for one to easily remember.

  • @JSD3530 Thanks. I didn't get the whole demo (older camera, battery died), but this pretty much covered it. Note: there are videos of guys with no undies under kilts -- don't they realize that kilts were worn with long, heavy, modest shirts that could double as nightshirts?

  • @Rummelhart Lol, I always tell people, go to a public event here and wear a kilt with nothing underneath, let the wind pick up and blow the kilt up and see how quick one lands in jail.

  • I hadn't checked back here in a while. Since when did the Goon Show or Monty Python start making YouTube comments?

  • it pretty funny seeing how short his kilt is like wow get a proper sizin

  • CHEAP? That much tartan wool is more expensive than a victorian era gun!

  • Rather funny that the kilt was invented in 1729 by an Englishman.

  • Er, not quite. The evolution of the kilt as we know it today was begun by an englishman in the little kilt. The "Great Kilt" as seen here was Highland wear from the mid to late 1600's. Basically he took the top half off and kept it separate from the bottom.

    But invented? No.

  • this is possibly the most practical garment in history.

  • This guy's kilt seems a wee bit short!

  • @ccoraxfan That's not his kilt, that's his undergarment! He's making his kilt....

  • @eatonjask

If that's an undergarment, please tell me what its name is. Also, no True Scotsman wears undergarments with the kilt.

  • @ccoraxfan There are contemporary writings that describe kilts as being mid-thigh.

  • Look mate I'm a Highlander and the campbells are hated in scotland they have no respect from other clans in scotland as they sided with the english on a number of ocations, they even killed a whole clan for the sake of the english, and I would say the Stuart is by far the largest clan hence the national tartan of scotland is the royal stuart and they are the only true blood line to the thrown of scotland, everyone in scotland knows this.

  • You know nothing of our history. The campbells arent hated, and they didnt side with the english, they sided with the government, which had a large majority of scots suppoting them. 'they even killed a whole clann', if you are refering to the macdonalds at glen coe, the majority of them survived, FACT, and they were just repaying them for years of hell that they put the campbells through. You believe the stereotyped version of the jacobite rebellions, i think you you start reading alot more

  • Nothing about our history lol, and the campbells arent hatet amongs scots lol, the majority of them survived--(MASACRE). If you want to argue go do some reseach. Question wee man? Give me the name of one clan in scotland that respects the Campbells History?. and if as you say they killed a whole clan but the majority survived it must have been a miracle lol.

  • Ok wee man, at the "masacre" of glen coe, the campbells fired their muskets off too early and most of the Macdonalds did survive, biased historians want naieve people like yourself to believe that they all died, but if you look into it just a little bit, and stopped asuming, you would discover that all non biased sources tells you that most survived. Before trying to act smart, read up a little before you make a fool of yourself

  • Why would Historians be biased about it lol and why would they want so called naieve people to be taken in by it lol. i must admit you faught hard to get your point over that your clan are not a set of murders. I will give you one chance to send me a link of a web site with info on it saying I'm wrong and you are right about the campbells. as I think you will find it very hard, but hey who knows I might find a web site saying Hitler was a nice wee man. lol

  • lol, you dont even know that you get biased historians, why are you even arguing. The campbells are not my clann, i just get annoyed at people that dont know their own history. I didnt get my info from the web, i got it from many books that i have read over the years. You are one of those unblievably obnoxious people that believe the first thing they read, you lost the argument when you first claimed they sided with the english, solid proof you know nufin of this period of history

  • yeah its not to hard, find a neo nazi enlistment page, and they make hitler look like jesus when he walked on water

  • the other clans just can't except that the campbells are the best in scotland!

  • Are you a campbell?

  • almost 100%!

  • Well I don't think you can say the campbells are the best clan in scotland as you are a campbell. Lets get other people in scotland to have a say on this one I think. Campbells yes or no?

  • well i think it's unfair that the Macdonalds and all other clans who didn't agree with what the campbells did in history get a say. let the other people in scotland have a say, as you said. And of course, all clans think they're the best, and i'm not gonna argue ;)

  • hey c'mon man, us macdonalds shuldnt be excluded we're still scots right? haha

  • i have 2 kilts. i saw one at Burberry KLCC last weekend. the discounted price is ard MYR 1,000-00. i bought mine from Laura Ashley. i love kilts.

  • agh, what happens at the end? :D

Someone should post a video of getting the kilt from the ground onto themselves so I can see.

Would you lie down on top of the fabric?..

  • lol, you being serious?

  • Yes, sincerely.

I'm glad you find it amusing, but that would be my first try, to lay on top of it and wrap it around myself.

Does someone please know how he puts it on? ^.^

  • this is not the normal every day kilt that is shown here, it is the great kilt or "plaid", and to put it on you would put a belt underneath it, lie down with the plaid just above the knees then wrap the right side over first then the left side, then just fasten the belt tightly around you and stand up.

  • Okay, thankyou very much. I am going to try it for myself now. :]

  • you forgot to add that when standing up after puting on the plaid, there will be two large pieces of the material hanging down past your knees, to deal with this, you will need to take a hold of the two corners that you can see in front of you and tuck the right side into the belt at your right hip and then do the same with the left

  • as anyone noticed that this dude isnt actualy scottish????

  • Just because someone isnt from scotland doesnt mean they're not scotish.

  • yes it does!! im scottish and i wouldn't say this guy is remotely scottish! your only scottish if your born in scotland, case closed.

  • im glad you feel that way about others that celebrate their heritage and your country...

  • who ever said "your only scottish if your born in scotland" is a lying sack of shit cause im from the most powerfull and largest clan in scotland the campbell clan

  • ehh the smith clan could compete for the largest clan title. since it the most common last name in scotland

  • I beg to differ with you. Clan MacKenzie had at one time the largest tract of land (coast to coast including the isles Lewis & Skye) in all Scotland. To:nop. There was no Clan Smith in Scotland.

  • Spoken like a typically ignorant Yank.

You're not from that clan; you have distant ancestors, that's all.

  • that's like saying your only a baby if you were fertilized in your mother's womb instead of in a test tube...

  • whiskey strainer lol och never thouta that lol

  • Yes, but then it's not a BLANKET. The Great Kilt is supposed to be a tent/blanket/clothing/water or whiskey strainer.

  • The challenge in wearing the Great Kilt is putting it on! Then it's arranging the aprons at the front and the huge apron at the back.

BTW - you can make pleating even easier by sewing on belt loops: 1" wide, 3" apart. Simply thread your belt the pleats form instantly.

Then arrange the great apron of your Braecon Feille over one shoulder.

  • I've only got three minutes per film, and was running out of power. If you have an end film, link it to this one.

  • He still didn't put it on...

  • ha at cal cool
