Thank u so much for the video. It helped me to understand what was taught in class, you just did it better. do you have any other videos about oncology, PUD, hiatal hernias? just asking ^.^
Pity about the crappy hip hop in the video as the footage is remarkable. My mum is dying of this disease and she would've reviewed the video but she hates anything but the Beatles. Congrats on this project as the research and most of the visuals really put the message out there.
Excellent video. I am a 49 year old female who abused alcohol for 27 years. I have cirrhosis of the liver, the itching, ascites, I had bleeding esophageal varices, jaundice. I am on nine medications to date. Impaired brain function with amonia in my brain. I am now sober since 12/15/2008. Liver is doing better but I have ruined my body. Beware. Don't let this happen to you. I have physical pain every day. Are we having fun yet?
Thanks! Glad to be of help. You can also check my other video regarding acute spinal cord injury (NCLEX-MS Nursing Review on Acute Spinal Cord Injury). Regards.
my daddy has this and he is skin and bones nnow with a huge belly from the swelling of his liver and vains its so hard to see him this way he just isnt him self any more he didnt reconise me one day at first he will ask me over and over who is this on the phone after i just told him its me.i love my daddy and i keep praying for him but soon his day will come and god will call him home...sob sob sob
I apologize for this late reply and sorry to hear what' has happened to your dad. Liver Cirrhosis is indeed a difficult disease not only to the patient but also to his family. I hope and pray that you will remain strong for your dad and your family. My regards.
I always say that the urine glows in the dark too. This is just a silly way of saying that its color is dark brown and if you spill it ( I am a nurse) it stains yellow.
The worst thing about liver diseases is that they often don`t cause any symptoms before the situation is critical. People should check their levels of ALT, AST, AspAT, GGT, GGTP, LDH, Billirubin every year.
I have developed primary sclerosing cholangitis at the age of 46 and this video is very scary ~ no holding back, no hope, etc... I hope my kids don't watch this. And I'm not a drinker at all and the only drug I'm taking is the urso for the disease itself. ~yikes~
@aussieMMApro No one knows for sure. Started out as a stricture in my bile duct. It's suspected that I had this as an internal injury from a car accident I suffered as a child with major head trauma. Maybe in '68, maybe medical staff/equipment wouldn't have been as thorough??? That's all I know at this point. Thanks for your response ~ hope things are good with you! (Jer 33:3)
You did a very good job! Although you forgot to mention that cirrhosis can be caused by other things such as toxins, cystic fibrosis, and such conditions like cardiac cirrhosis, where right-sided heart failure leads to liver congestion. I personally have cirrhosis (as a result of past years of inhalant & drug/toxin abuse - although fortuantely I've been clean for several years now) and I wouldn't wish this condition on anyone. Your video hopefully will make people more aware about the condition.
Wow...This is so great! It's like I am watching Discover Channel. The video is very informative, yet not offending. It is very factual, yet very comprehensible..Keep it up!!!
The video is very informative and significant because it promote awareness to the viewer how important to take care of their liver due to the disease it may cause when it will be abuse...
Nice concept to use the butterfly as reminder. With this, people will be more aware and watchful on their diet to prevent this kind of disease, especially during this festive season.
Unwatchable due to the music
