I'm so excited. I played VII and X and I love X so much better.
While both are amazing games, 7 but it's really showing its age. If anything, 7 is the one in desperate need of a full remake, and if they give em voice overs too, it's a wrap. SquareEnix would make so much more money. I'm already sold for FFX. Just remake FF7 and that's it for me.

Hopefully a lot of the old PS2 games will be available for download on the ps3 and vita. Sucks that if I want to play on of the games I use to own I have to go to a place like EBay and be over charged for a game that use to cost 20 dollars. People are crazy if they think they can sell games for 200 dollars when there are better games for 20 on XBox 360 and PS3. Downloadable's make those fools drop the price on original disc copies.
Remake of FFX...i dunno, what exactly will be added and subtracted? guess I'll have to play it, but I still like it the way it is unless they're going to give us the secret ending of Tidus not disappearing. Some games are better left untouch and unremade. FF7 is one of those games...think about it, do you really wanna see a pycho Cloud screaming with his head going back and forth in a wheel chair...I don't. Besides 7 already has the movie/anime and complication. I wanna see something w/8 and 9!
i think square don't wanna work too hard, i mean clearly ffx on ps2 has great graphic and audio (compare to all FF series before FFX). the story and gameplay is awesome too. this meant less work for them ^^
With a little modification (especially HD support), FFX definitely worth playing on PS3.
it's not that other FFs r bad, but i guess square will need extra works in order to make them worth playing on PS3, especially on graphic and sounds.

I'm so thrilled that they are remaking this! This is my 2nd favourite FF (on equal level with FF4) I put alot of time into this game. Must have replayed it about 12 times! If they are remaking they should add features like skippable cut scenes, New Game Pluss. Things that could have been added but sadly were not. Heres hoping!
ff7 was good, but the graphics were lazy and didn't cope with the story. Final Fantasy X Has the best graphics on ps2 (Even better than x-2 and XII) and is the less ff4 inspired game. Final Fantasy VII's gameplay only had materia going on as something new. Otherwise it was recycling the system from Final Fantasy IV.
Final Fantasy VII is overrated. Final Fantasy X revolutioned gaming. Even minecraft uses a grid like Final Fantasy X's. And that's not all, games also got inspired by the combat system. For example Lord Of The Rings: The Third Age used the turn system.
No game treats rpg elements like Final Fantasy X. Status aliments, stats, and spells are the key elements of gameplay, instead of making one key element overpowered. The most balanced gameplay ever, and the best story, without a doubt.

Combat system was derived from much earlier ff games not ff 10, all of the other things you mentioned was evolved, developed from ..again the previous games. One great thing ffx had going for it was that is was the first ff game to arrive on a next gen console. I have enjoyed ff until after ffx when after they began going down hill, you ovb cant have immersed yourself in prev ff games so do not comment.

@Reloading26 If you're speaking gameplay and graphic wise then it should as it was made on a more advance console then. If you're speaking in terms of story then NO. Cloud has a far more deep and tragic background and story than Tidus does. Sephiroth is a more sadistic antagonist (reasons given with his story) than Jecth or Seymore. The story just have a more overall deeper feel than FFVII. Whether you believe it or not, it's true.
@Reloading26 And Cloud thought he was a clone of his real self. Besides Tidus came back to existance. Cloud also had a bad childhood being blame for Tifa's fall and became a rebellion. Didn't make it to Soldier. Had his idol slaughter his hometown including his mother. Got drugged up and became unstable. Also, he best friend got shot up and died in his arms thus taking up his personality. What happen to Tidus before the game started?

@Reloading26 I agree with you. The story of the 7th didn't hook me in as well as X did. The recent one wasn't all that interesting in my opinion, but i will admit the characters were cool. Lightning, Szah, Snow, and Oerba were pretty awesome but I despised the gameplay. I resented it and I found myself pushing myself for the sake of the story but the story just didn't pick up for me so I put it down and haven't played it since. Can't say too much of 7 though...but I'm psyched for X!

I honestly dont know why everyone thinks FF7 is the best?? I've played it and beat it and would play through it again, but it has no where near as good of a story as IX and X. VIII is also really good

I know there are some people who don't like it...I didnt like it at first because it was different, but once i got used to it, i liked the game even more. The developers changed it to keep the franchise from becoming monotonous. I'm pretty sure no one wants to play FF with the same battle system from the first one

@alef321 lol i did at some point have both at the same time but sold the ps3 found it stupid to have 2 consoles that have more than half the same games, recently sold 360 aswell so now i'm consoleless ._. The ps3 was really nice with its free online and blu ray :D
they just want all the Final Fantasies on a handheld in some form or another . 1-6 were on Nintendo's GBA/DS Handhelds. 7-9 were on PSP's PSN download and now were now at FFX for the probaly FF XI. FXII and FFXIII handheld versions to follow in the next few years on the Vita.
@Harleybear09 I think they're just making the graphics in HD. I thought FFX was an awesome game. I guess they think they can take those graphics in the game, and make them suitable for the PS3 and Vita.

This was my favorite game of all time. I'm so happy it will be getting an HD makeover because i have thought in my head about the possibility of slamming trophies on X SO MANY TIMES! Although X-2 was......unorthodox, i hope this still means an HD version of that as well. i ESPECIALLY hope this means people outside of japan will finally get to mess with the international version content without that annoying PC download. Best soundtrack and story EVA!

I don't think people are aware that this is basically going to be the PS2 game in HD with some anti aliasing. We are not looking at a full remake where they scrap the entire game and start from scratch.
I loved this game. My only gripe was that Blitzball was pretty confusing. Still love all the characters Tidus, Yuna, Wakka, Kimahri, Lulu and Rikku. This makes it one of the best with FF7. I still pray for a FF7 HD!

What I don't understand is all the grief fans are giving Square because it isn't a FF7 remake, but it seems strange they would be unhappy with this, since Square has already greatly expanded FF7 in recent years.
I can't agree more with XxXKenamaruXxX, the story line is really what makes this game so memorable, along with the character experience. Unlike some FF7 fans, I am very grateful Square is taking on this project.
I'd say VII's OST is my favorite. But I can't live without X's OST either. Most of the songs are flawless... and so many of them tie into the emotions I experienced while playing the game. My nostalgia is enough to make me cry when I hear X's music.
@fruitikay Final Fantasy 6 has the undisputed best sound track. Nothing comes close to it if you want to talk about it. Final Fantasy 10 has a style it's not the same ranking. ;p

@Reloading26 FFVII had better design then X. The soundtrack is a matter of taste. But every sane person can agree earlier final fantasy titles where better designed then X.
X wasn't bad though, i freaking loved it.

@mirrorpiece I have never gotten the feeling of playing FFX in any other game: the feeling of actually being part of Spira. It is something I can never replicate. Thus it is why I give my favorite game ever.

@Reloading26 If you're speaking gameplay and graphic wise then it should as it was made on a more advance console then. If you're speaking in terms of story then NO. Cloud has a far more deep and tragic background and story than Tidus does. Sephiroth is a more sadistic antagonist (reasons given with his story) than Jecth or Seymore. The story just have a more overall deeper feel than FFVII. Whether you believe it or not, it's true.

@Reloading26 And Cloud thought he was a clone of his real self. Besides Tidus came back to existance. Cloud also had a bad childhood being blame for Tifa's fall and became a rebellion. Didn't make it to Soldier. Had his idol slaughter his hometown including his mother. Got drugged up and became unstable. Also, he best friend got shot up and died in his arms thus taking up his personality. What happen to Tidus before the game started?

IX was amazing, VII (CC & AC) and XII were great.

@Reloading26 I agree with you. The story of the 7th didn't hook me in as well as X did. The recent one wasn't all that interesting in my opinion, but i will admit the characters were cool. Lightning, Szah, Snow, and Oerba were pretty awesome but I despised the gameplay. I resented it and I found myself pushing myself for the sake of the story but the story just didn't pick up for me so I put it down and haven't played it since. Can't say too much of 7 though...but I'm psyched for X!

Good story is what you look for in a final fantasy, 10 has the best story of the franchise therefore is the best.

I honestly dont know why everyone thinks FF7 is the best?? I've played it and beat it and would play through it again, but it has no where near as good of a story as IX and X. VIII is also really good

@alef321 I agree that it's also about gameplay and other aspects, but FF8's battle system wasn't broken. It was a change in the gameplay to keep the fan's interested in the series. I know there are some people who don't like it...I didnt like it at first because it was different, but once i got used to it, i liked the game even more. The developers changed it to keep the franchise from becoming monotonous. I'm pretty sure no one wants to play FF with the same battle system from the first one

Shame man 8's story was fkin beautifull :D Oddly i never got to play FFX so knowing they're gonna remake it is nice, i hope square goes crazy and puts it on 360 :D if they made FF8 HD for ps exclusive i'd buy a ps3 in a heartbeat.

@alef321 lol i did at some point have both at the same time but sold the ps3 found it stupid to have 2 consoles that have more than half the same games, recently sold 360 aswell so now i'm consoleless ._. The ps3 was really nice with its free online and blu ray :D

they just want all the Final Fantasies on a handheld in some form or another . 1-6 were on Nintendo's GBA/DS Handhelds. 7-9 were on PSP's PSN download and now were now at FFX for the probaly FF XI. FXII and FFXIII handheld versions to follow in the next few years on the Vita.

@Harleybear09 I think they're just making the graphics in HD. I thought FFX was an awesome game. I guess they think they can take those graphics in the game, and make them suitable for the PS3 and Vita.

I love ff8 the most but I don't need a remake because the game is good as it is same with ff7

This was my favorite game of all time. I'm so happy it will be getting an HD makeover because i have thought in my head about the possibility of slamming trophies on X SO MANY TIMES! Although X-2 was......unorthodox, i hope this still means an HD version of that as well. i ESPECIALLY hope this means people outside of japan will finally get to mess with the international version content without that annoying PC download. Best soundtrack and story EVA!

I don't think people are aware that this is basically going to be the PS2 game in HD with some anti aliasing. We are not looking at a full remake where they scrap the entire game and start from scratch.

I loved this game. My only gripe was that Blitzball was pretty confusing. Still love all the characters Tidus, Yuna, Wakka, Kimahri, Lulu and Rikku. This makes it one of the best with FF7. I still pray for a FF7 HD!

What I don't understand is all the grief fans are giving Square because it isn't a FF7 remake, but it seems strange they would be unhappy with this, since Square has already greatly expanded FF7 in recent years.
I can't agree more with XxXKenamaruXxX, the story line is really what makes this game so memorable, along with the character experience. Unlike some FF7 fans, I am very grateful Square is taking on this project.

In FF7 they would have to make the 3D characters and world, and give them voices... and seriously, think of FF7 battles in HD (and 3D)...
If any Final Fantasy should have a HD remake to PS3, it should be the first(s) one(s)! (although the FF I had it's spotlight on Dissidia).
I loved FFX, and I'm getting the remake + the best special edition (if they make one)!

I'd say VII's OST is my favorite. But I can't live without X's OST either. Most of the songs are flawless... and so many of them tie into the emotions I experienced while playing the game. My nostalgia is enough to make me cry when I hear X's music.
