  • lozl im singing this for my christams concert and its so difficult but fun :)

  • IM DOING THIS FOR MY CHOIF ON TUES THE TWINNY ITH!!!!

  • Sean Ivory is my choir teacher!

  • Sean Ivory is my nephew -- You should have heard him play my Steinway grand piano when he was 10 years old. I thought he would be a concert pianist, but obviously his better talents were not yet deveolped. He has co- written and composed some really beautiful music.

  • @sargeanton2 Really? That's so cool!

  • My Choir teacher wrote this song... it's GREAT!!!! I loved singing it, especially when the 2 parts combined. It was awesome!

  • I LOVED singing this. Their faces are too upset. It's a difficult song, but they seemed to have mastered it just fine. Why not be happy about it?! Jam a little people!

  • this version is WAY too strict and clean-up. it's supposed to be celebratory! WE WILL ATTAIN FREEDOM! I mean really. smile a little bit and have fun! standing like a bookend will not give the audience the feeling of what the song is really about. I sang this in South Africa with my choir, and everyone in the audience knew the words and had suffered through apartheid so it meant a lot to them. Imagine as if you really MEAN the words and aren't just reciting them.

  • I'm singing this for my choir and my fav part is at the end when they hold the more and then they African part stops

  • @TupuolaKatiana Can i just have both? I need the lyrics to.

  • beautiful song, but their faces are so blank....XD

  • can someone please hurry and find me a site for the lyrics to the song so i can practice for my school choir! please!

  • @PepeandSandra :

    Hi. Lol

i have The Lyrics Because I Am Also singing For My School. Would You Like the Zulu And English ?

    Good Luck <3

  • beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • I may be wrong, but this choir needs some work with enunciation. If I didn't know the lyrics already, I'd have a hard time knowing what was being said in the first part.

  • @jeveuxlesoleil Your right. Portland Symfonic Girlchoir does it better. I don;t think they are on you tube though.

  • Beautifully done. you sound wonderful

  • Thula Sizwe > Of the Father's Love Begotten

  • I was the accompanist for this song my senior year! I love this song. Such a fun piano part

  • omg i remember doing this song!!!!!!

awhhh now i wanna do it againn :(

  • @broadwayjunkie123 I sang this at regional chorus in 2002, powerful song!

  • @Jerseysson27 isnt it??? gosh still brings back tears!!

  • @broadwayjunkie123 Sure is, and that is my prayer for those who have physical and mental challenges, to be free and to have the same rights as human being do, that is my prayer to all.

  • i sang this in 7th grade and four years later, i'm doing it again and i get to lead a part of the middle schoolers in the 3 part round.

and i have a tip for high schoolers in chorus if you get to lead one of the sections for the round: if you can, practice cuing the parts of the round. because come the day of the concert, you'll know what to do.

  • @ABroadwaystar2534 We were going to do this song as one of our pieces for our christmas concert my senior year of high schoo, but we only got to sing it during practice before hand, because it was canceled because of a bad snow storm.

  • I love this song!

Its my favorite song I sung in choir

Today were going to sing the song at kentwood

    so thanks Mr. Chamberlain!

  • this is my most favorite song i've ever sung :D

  • I sang this in my first season with my choir (ICC) two and a half years ago and it just gets to me every time.

  • The Minnesota Boychoir did this in Sydney Australia in June 2007

  • Our school is singing this for our Christmas concert. The highschool is gets the Swahili part, and the middle school has the chant. The first time we did this together, the hs started to sing, and the ms was like, wtf? It's such a cool piece.

  • My school is singing this as well. It's a very beautiful song in my opinion. I sing the soprano in this song, so the ending for me is really fun with all the high notes, especially the very last chord.

  • lol im singing this for choir to!! haha

  • Love this! Singing if for our choir concert. Freshman choir is singing the trio part. Apparently it was intended for childrens chorus. I'm playing the flute!! And our concert choir is singing Swahili...

  • wonderful!!

  • MR.CALDWELL ROX he is my choir director and he iz like da best

  • I sang this with Paul Caldwell conducting. He is so incredibly awesome.

  • I had to sing this song in choir of 6th grade. Except ours was 7 minutes long...

  • haha theres this girl dancing on 2:57 - 3:02

    lol

  • my choir did this song, so pretty. paul caldwell the composer came from chicago to work with us the princeton girl choir he was so funny! hehe! yea the flute was too loud, but yea.

  • That was good but the flute kinda overpowered the sing and it was hard to hear the text...BTW i sang this last year at voices of youth for ICC so I know how that song sounds and or is supposed to sound...no offence it was good and make sure to move and show expresion when you sing even if your not singing so it looks like you believe what your singing

  • my choir director co wrote this. i feel very lucky to have him as my director.

  • If you're not going to pronounce the click right, why bother singing in the language?

  • wer doin thiss in school an wer well better! its for r germany tour woooo :)

  • they really weren't that good.

  • Well, I think it's lovely and very emotional and moving!

  • u gus suk! ya im in pensacola children chorus... go look it up! but were the best choir in florida!

  • we did this in our choir and it sounded waaaaaaaaaay better! and you forgot the click!!!!!!!(on the African singing part)

  • ha yeah they did! well my choir is going to perform it and we cant really fit the click into it.

  • were singing this song in choir to and the click sounds way better with it and we are good ,well better than this version.

  • I think your translation is a little off I think it is Jehovah will protect us, not Jehovah is with us. It doesn't make much of a difference.

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • i love this song so much. the high school chorale in my city is singing this for our christmas festival and it sounds so beautiful. we have a violinist accompanying the chorale too so it sounds spectacular. great job girls!

  • Excellent...the Zulu is so much better than the English one

  • I sang this in the Sydney Opera house... it was the most amazing thing every !!

  • we're singing this song in my choir

only there's about 23 of us, so it's a different sound.

  • I love this sone were doing IT FO

    CHRISTMAS =D YEZ LOVE IT

  • We're doing this song in my choir right now. It's a pretty great peice, eh? But we're mixed guys and girls, so theres a much different sound.

  • do you go to arch bishop carney? I go there!! its michelle

  • No, sorry, Michelle. I go to St. Pat's.

    :)

  • yeah i got the exact same scenario at my school. guys and girls. i love singing this song! i think when we put both parts together it'll be awesome! but we won't be just standing there when we put it together, we'll be moving side to side. it's pretty cool :P

  • we performed that song yesturday for our bishop

  • the indianapolis childrens choir sang this in the voices of youth concert 2008.

i sang second soprano, and i am a boy

  • when our choir does it, it sounds amazing

    we have guys aha

and im a bass so its pretty good hah

  • we're singing this song in my choir the Saskatoon Children's Choir I hope we can do it as well as this we're one of the best children's choirs in Canada

  • i like the unforms :)

  • They're just wondrous!! There's only 2 things. Where's the clicked tongue? At the last "Ko" you're supposed to sort of click your tongue. Also, the sopranos at the end had horrid vibrato. I think it was sung well!, just for it to be perfect in my book, could they have not gotten a girl's choir to do that? We sung this, I was soprano at 13, and they loved us! There were other choirs but they only talked about the girl's choir and how well they handled the soprano part. These guys should do that:)

  • WOW that was amazing you guys!!

  • Yeah...Thats pretty amazing.

Kinda makes me wish I didnt fail so I could have gone.

  • ^.^ We sounded good! Yay! This was my favorite song that we sang!

  • it sounds infinitely better if you sing in four-measure phrases. seriously.
