This music is the highest achievement of human species and I hope that once we're gone, our music and art will remain for some other species to know us by....and not by wars and destruction.
I'm sick of all the comments talking about how blessed she is and how she is a gift from God. Valentina practices 10-12 hours a day. God has nothing to do with it.
Wonderful Valentina Lisitsa! Her Rachmaninov's Prelude Op 23 N5 is my favourite! Please listen to my performance of Fantasy-Suite for piano from Tchaikowsky's ballet "Swan Lake" and let me know your opinion. Thanks and best regards, Rezo Jorbenadze.
Valentina, please write something to me, anything, short, it doesn't matter, what i want it's to feel that you know me. I'm sure that I'm one of the main followers of your music and your generosity. Thanks. Love you. Didier. PS are you going to came to Mexico again, when?
this girl is amazing..she really play Rachmoninoff, Tchaikovsky (as seen here) amd Beethoven amazingly well. I wasn't too in love with her take on Chopin..a bit too much power for Chopin really.
well looks like a Steinway & Sons to me... and well its very likely that it is a Steinway & Sons since most of the concert halls have S&S =) i hope this helped
I am discovering little by little all the recordings of Mrs Lisitsa and as more I go on, I see it is an incredible phantastic career.... She is one of the rare pianists who will write piano history or better said who is already writing piano history.
she will replace Martha Argerich little by little and remember us of the great careers of Horowitz and Rubinstein.
Ok I dont know much about music but I ve seen this in a couple of other of her vids....she is not reading any paper...and that just amazes me cause shes playing that by memory only and I cant even remember to do my homework...
hmm takhirviolinesr.... awesome but what about lisitsa ? cause actually in this vid she's the only pianist i can see...anyway she's amazing as always . lol i feel like 'i' m being quite repetitive... always saying that her playing is beautiful and amazing....!
I think it's her tallness, long arms, and wide hands that she's able to play so strongly and pesante. Being slavic herself, she's got the accent on this slavic concerto correct. Such incredible natural talent. Oh geez, it was played at the LA philharmonic, my hometown and I missed it !!!!!!
i agree. much musisians have high technical level. but what really makes the diference its her muscallity, what she brings to the music with hr particular performace
I'm sorry if you get two or three comments from me! Something didn't quite work with my computer. What orchestra do you play with, and who conducts? This is so beautiful! Thanks from Sweden!
Magnificent. Ms. Lisitsa, your emotional grasp of this piece (and others-Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninov) compliments the virtuosity of your talents to create a truly remarkable talent that is IMHO on the same level as Richter, Pollini, Michelangeli, and Rubenstein to name a few. It is good to see people still devoted to such an important aspect of life.

ihrtmusic12334 2 years ago 4
not every pianist can actually, certainly only a few can remember an entire concerto off by heart like her!
I would say that among pianists, you either tend to learn a piece off by heart or play the music by sight with a general feel of the piece.
Just my opinion sorry.

Why do you even compare her to that "idiot".
Lang Lang is a clown and she is an artist.
They are not even to put close together.
She feels and spreads music.
Lang Lang is too narrow minded and self centred to even get close to something like this.
