When I heard about Willem's death today on NPR I was shocked. He was part of my musical education in the 1970s and triggered my love of big irreverent ensembles combining jazz, modern classics and fun - lots of it.

Het is inderdaad een groot gemis, maar hij heeft zijn stempel op de muziekwereld kunnen drukken en zijn muziek leeft voort....dus dat de wereld en Nederland doodser is geworden deel ik niet helemaal met je.....
