This game really hit home in terms of player emotion and feedback for me. The way it was scripted was nothing less of magnificent. I remember picking this up and thinking it was something that SE just threw out, but after playing it and getting to know it, it was well worth the money i paid. There has been no other game with an OST nor story that has moved me like this one. The game's timeless tale of a father searching far and wide will for his daughter will forever, resonate with my soul.

I won't rag on you. Before this came out, I always put KH, FF and Castlevania over everything. Even Star Ocean(Don't shoot me people). But when I played both NieR and NieR RepliCant, I put that over every game that I own. The soundtrack is wonderful, the story is a little slow at the begining but quickly catches up later in the game and the characters are wonderful(Especially Emil who I can symphathize with). It's a very excelent game from Cavia and Square Enix!X3

Now if the two in the snow area in the start is the shadowlord and his daughter, maybe. But the fact that thier souls left thier body mad the replicants.
Love fuels most of the events of the game : A man want to save his beloved daughter... twice, dooming human kind. A boy fall into madness because of the lost of his beloved brother. A robot fight to his end because he must protect his beloved friend. A Wolf attack a city for the love of his kind. A boy sacrifice himself to protect his friends... so much love... so much pain... such tragic tale.
The ending of Nier was fabulous because it wasn't really a victory at all. Congratulations, you saved your daughter. Look what you had to do to get there. Neither side is innocent and neither side really won. It's a very human story filled with the shades of grey, happiness, and disappointment that make those stories so great. And I haven't even seen the ending B content yet. I suspect it will get even more grey when viewing the background for the shades.

One of my favorite RPG's to date... Definitely fits right up there with Lost Odyssey as one of the best RPG"s in recent years...
It tops FF7 for me.. I know I'm gonna be raged at by some fanboys, and fangirls, but FF4, FF6, and FF9 are the only ones that can compare to how much I love this game..

@zeNinjan Have you played to Ending B? I don't feel the same way after seeing it. Evil is something you really can't apply to them. The whole game makes one question the concept of good and evil. If you haven't, play through again. The whole thing becomes more amazing yet heartbreaking.
