hi friends i m giving online classes for new students or old students on skype if anyone want to learn tar shehnai esraj dilruba taus so add me on skype my id is arshadisrajplayer
He dives deep in those notes and brings us those pure notes. Yes it may be a bit melancholy but these emotions have to be experienced too. It is so good to hear him play and one can get connected to this music.
Very Nice, but it is disrespectful to have the tabla player sit at a lower platform. The days of "2 and 4 annas" for tabla players are long over. This is probably minor to most, but respectively, this set up seems a bit odd.
these recordings were done by on network east in the late 80s and early 90s.thanks for the vid...very beautiful ustad ji has always played saaz beautifuly
Gurdev Singh's my ustad. Wow! He looks so young. Any idea when this was filmed? Also, how can I get a copy of this with better resolution? I think he'd be amazed to see to see this but I'd rather surprise him with a proper copy than youtube
Unfortunately I don't know anything about this video.I found it a day on mehfil tube and fortunately I downloaded it before it was deleted.I tried to find some cds on the internet shops about Gurdev Singh Raga Ahir Bhairav on dilruba, but I didn't find anything. If you or someone know something, please tell me. A great greeting to you and to Gurdev Singh.
Gurdev Ji is playing a Dilruba not a Sarangi. The Sarangi does not have frets and the Sarangi is a much harder instrument to play. Nevertheless, Gurdev Ji give a great rendition of one of my favourite raags. Thanks for posting.
I´m practising ahir bhairav on sitar, now for nearly seven months - this is the most beautiful interpretation of this raag I´ve ever heard. I hope, my sitar will sing one day in this manner.
