@dcorps There would have been lots of disabled people there but their funding has been cut to pay for the games. Not everyone can afford bus fares and wheelchairs.
I see the Olympics as a smart investment that will yield a huge return for BC. International tourists will want to visit after seeing BC's unspoiled natural splendour on TV at home. Dollars / Yen / Pounds / EUROs coming from outside our community will pay for all kinds of social programs. February is one of the worst months for hotel occupancy in Vancouver, and the City is sold out for the whole month. More wages and rooms tax are one current benefit, and I see billions of tourism $ to come.
