Was it in Reservoir Dogs that they're all like "Pam Grier was super hot in Jackie Brown" ? If not then what movie was it in o_O this has been torturing me for a few days
@3xWink Pam Grier in fact had her appearance toned down and roughed up for this film. I saw footage of her promoting this film on various media appearances of that time (1997) and can attest to the fact that she looked a lot more glamorous offstage than on.
@cbranson He's making an educated opinion off of actually seeing all the Tarantino films; that's it. You're just a troll who feeds off of arguments. Perhaps it's time for mommy and daddy to turn the Net Nanny back on?
Death Proof was a bit of a departure from Quentin's normal style; he played more on the old-school slasher flick feel than his usual nonlinear spaghetti western style. Understandable that you didn't like it, but I enjoyed it a lot. So, instead of saying it was simply a piece of crap, leave it at "I didn't like Death Proof and that's my opinion". Also, I'd like to see your directorial skills in action. Spike Lee has to stand on a stool to kiss Quentin's ass; I guess you'd need Everest.
@LeechHat You don't need to be a director in order to criticize a movie. And he can voice his oppinion the way he wants to, as long as he admits it's his oppinion and not a fact, which I'm sure he will.
I found this novel called The Suicide Game that feels like a Tarantino movie and even has a character that seems to be Tarantino himself. It features a black hitman, a murderous priest, and a gay phone sex operator. I downloaded it for free at smashwords . com and it was awesome.
@xelbaga1987 deniro was the best character in the movie in my opinion , when he shot bridget in the head in the parking lot, that was the greatest part of the movie. Definitely one of tarantino's weaker movie's, anything he writes originally has become an instant classic, this wasn't one but deniro was class.
@BayouBluesMan why do you think this? it had great story, characters, dialogue,action(despite there not being much), music, and the ending was kick ass.
what a coincidence, it's one of the best films I've ever seen. and none of Quentin's flicks are overrated. if anything, both this film and inglorious basterds are quite underrated.
@DenimZero like i said Jackie Brown or Pulp Fiction wasnt ripped off. Theres nothing wrong with drawing inspiration from other films either. And Resovoir Dogs was much more different than city on fire. I have seen both movies. There have been plenty of movies with jewerly heists. And I understand that at the end scene of City of Fire is somewhat similar to Resovoir Dogs except Resovoir ending was different all together.
@oneindachamber Like Martin Scorsese's The Departed, it draws inspiration from "Infernal Affairs" and he pays homage to that movie. not a ripoff, he just got inspiration for that movie. also he wons an oscar for best director
@LuisRamirez666 Yeah plenty of movies are based off of books and other movies. For example Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars they say was ripped off of Yojimbo a great Asian film. But both actually take from Dashiell Hammett's book 'Red Harvest' but Yojimbo came out first and Leone would forfeit some profits from that film after bein sued by that director but everybody talks about Tarintino.
@DenimZero jackie brown wasnt ripped off so what the hell are you talking about Pulp Fiction wasnt either. There is nothing wrong with paying homage and being inspired by other films. John Woo is inspired by Martin Scorsesee and Jean Pierre melville and I see in woo's movies where he was inspired by these things from his favorite directors. And how is it ripping off when you acknowledge the person you got it from and Tarintino has done that and Woo has also
The reason why Kill Bill was rated over Jackie Brown because of the action but the storyline was very simplistic.
Jackie Brown had a more solid storlyine and solid acting the movie critics were on some type of tar back in 1997 because looking back now Jackie Brown needed to be praised
this and pulp ficition are the only 2 good movies from mr. qt...this is his finest work actually..sorry qt fan boys but inglorious bastards , kill bill and that shit double feature he did are just that - shit
I think Jackie Brown is actually his best movie across the board, dead proof Inglorious basterdz (even though Christoph Waltz performance was amazing), were probably his worst things his ever written, they were like random scenes just strung in together by a flimsy plot
I love Tarantino's movies, but Jackie Brown is the first that had me care for the fate of the protagonist. I didn't feel that again until Inglourious Basterds and Shoshanna.
@440John Dude shut the fuck up, samuel L jackson is actually a good acter, like to see you do better, retard. i aint a major fan, but he's a good acter.
@RAPFURY1 ACTOR. That's how it's spelled. Jackson is a very good actor. He's doing what he's been directed to do by Quentin, combined with his innate good dose of charisma.
@RAPFURY1 Yeah. I don't what that John dude has against Jackson. Samuel L. was amazing in Pulp Fiction. I'd like to see John's own mug, by the way...hmm...or now would I?
It has pretty much gotten to the point where as long as a movie is written and directed by QT, we can be certain it is going to be well above average, and quite possibly, a masterpiece - that is high praise for high quality filmmaking.
@chileno39 you obviously didnt understand it. your probably one of those dumbasses that watches cheap overated movies with simple pointless stories. like transformers and that avatar bullshit! what are you like 13?? come back when you have matured a little and are a little smarter because this movie isnt supposed to be an action packed movie with gun fights and explosions. thats not what makes a movie good. good acting good dialog and a good sotry make a a good movie. wich avatar didnt have.

i have seen all the films by quentin tarantino but not this, i guess because i havent here much of it like pulp fiction reservoir dogs and kill bill, is this film any good?
@thodorisgiannakopoul I have been a Tarantino guy since Kill Bill then I got the chance to see all of his movies as I got older but not this one until i finally bought it online because you cant find this movie at any store. I saw it just last week and I have to say its just as amazing as Resevoir and Pulp Fiction. The performances and the music really make the movie special.
@thodorisgiannakopoul IMO i think this was another great tarantino film. People dont hear much about it because i dont think it wasn't as popular audiencewise as pulp fiction and reservoir dogs, but regardless of that, this is still just as good as Quentin's first 2 movies. The dialogue was great/funny and the performances of greir and jackson were wonderful. So if you've seen Tarantino's other movies, you've got to watch this one.
Jackie Brown is one of Tarantino's best films, only retards dislike a movie that has Pam Grier, Sam Jackson, Robert De Niro, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, and Robert Forster. Tarantino's worst movies are Death Proof and Kill Bill, Death Proof is the biggest pile of shit I've ever seen.
@LiquidSolidRaiden what are talking about death proof is a really really great movie i think it is one of his best!although i agree for kill bill!but man not for death proof its an amazing movie with great music also
@marilou7itgr I liked the first half of Death Proof, but the second half was weak and full of unlikable characters,(including a female Sam Jackson knock-off). If you consider a movie with a weak plot and characters great, fine with me, but that's the type of movie I avoid.
@LiquidSolidRaiden no i didnt think the characters of the second half were weak and in the second part the end for me was great you have the feeling of moral justification as in many of tarantino's films as reservoir dogs inglorious bastards death proof and i like that partand for me s film were really interesting but thats only my opion you have yours!
samuel jackson's hair and how unrealistic the last scene at the mall with the cops was. but seriously has anyone ever seen a black person with hair like samuel l jackson's hair neither have i.
If he ever makes a film as great as this again, I will be the first to rejoice. With 'Inglorious Basterds', he's well on his way to building back his rep with me.
I've seen all of Tarantino's movies and Kill Bill is by far my favorite, In fact it's my favorite film of all time. It has style, substance, great dialogue and acting. Plus it's probably his most creative film to date (anime sequence, black and white scenes, eccentric soundtrack.)
Wow, you've seen all six of his movies. That must have been hard narrowing it down, then.
Truth is, neither of us is right or wrong. I see a distinctly uneven quality to his movies, placing 'Jackie Brown' at the top, 'Kill Bill' at the bottom. You are presumably the opposite. One is right from his side, the other right from his. I found a Tarantino movie I love with little reservation. You found one too. Good for us.
@CubeLuda kill bill movies were epic! deathproff, I dont understand why people dont like it? Russell killed that performance and the car chases were insane. The Basterds, Christoph Waltz owned the movie!!! IMO He has not made one bad movie
@CubeLuda yeah I agree 1990s was the tarantino era, inglorious was good but in those days he was just the fucking king. Though tbh 90s was just an awesome decade for films.
Thank you. Someone that agrees with me :) The best era for action/comedy/crime movies where in the 90's. Top directing, top acting, top action... Everything was the bomb! Today? Crappy acting, nothing but CGI, and horrible low-budget directing because directors have gotten lazy due to technology.
I have a top-200 movie list, and around 80% of it are films from the 90's. That says something :)
@thisniggajoe Yes he does. Deathproof stinks to high heaven even though the first half, Planet Terror was brilliant. And Basterds is good, but not great...too damn much talking for no reason whatsoever.

The performances and the music really make the movie special.
thisniggajoe 1 year ago
@thodorisgiannakopoul IMO i think this was another great tarantino film. People dont hear much about it because i dont think it wasn't as popular audiencewise as pulp fiction and reservoir dogs, but regardless of that, this is still just as good as Quentin's first 2 movies. The dialogue was great/funny and the performances of greir and jackson were wonderful. So if you've seen Tarantino's other movies, you've got to watch this one.

GEssh what a fantastic movie by Tarantino!! He just doenst know how to make a bad movie!! Defitenely underrated, great performances and music!

If this isn't considered a good film, then Tarantino is a shitty Director, cause this is one of his best.

LiquidSolidRaiden 1 year ago
@LiquidSolidRaiden what are talking about death proof is a really really great movie i think it is one of his best!although i agree for kill bill!but man not for death proof its an amazing movie with great music also

@marilou7itgr I liked the first half of Death Proof, but the second half was weak and full of unlikable characters,(including a female Sam Jackson knock-off). If you consider a movie with a weak plot and characters great, fine with me, but that's the type of movie I avoid.
LiquidSolidRaiden 1 year ago
@LiquidSolidRaiden no i didnt think the characters of the second half were weak and in the second part the end for me was great you have the feeling of moral justification as in many of tarantino's films as reservoir dogs inglorious bastards death proof and i like that partand for me s film were really interesting but thats only my opion you have yours!

Jackie Brown is seriously the most underrated movie ever, it`s awesome and Tarantino`s third best after Pulp and Dogs.

This is a great movie, though I have to say, it's Tarantino's worst.

@thisniggajoe Wrong:
It's called 'Kill Bill'.
If he ever makes a film as great as this again, I will be the first to rejoice. With 'Inglorious Basterds', he's well on his way to building back his rep with me.
FungusMossGnosis 1 year ago
@FungusMossGnosis Wrong.
I've seen all of Tarantino's movies and Kill Bill is by far my favorite, In fact it's my favorite film of all time. It has style, substance, great dialogue and acting. Plus it's probably his most creative film to date (anime sequence, black and white scenes, eccentric soundtrack.)

@videosarefun69

@thisniggajoe
Kinda does actually :) Anything from the 90's from him are all in my top 10 list... The rest... Meh.
CubeLuda 1 year ago
@CubeLuda kill bill movies were epic! deathproff, I dont understand why people dont like it? Russell killed that performance and the car chases were insane. The Basterds, Christoph Waltz owned the movie!!! IMO He has not made one bad movie
thisniggajoe 1 year ago
@CubeLuda yeah I agree 1990s was the tarantino era, inglorious was good but in those days he was just the fucking king. Though tbh 90s was just an awesome decade for films.

@RelaxItsJustAFlare

@thisniggajoe lets not forget death proff, oh wait i meant to forget death proof, damn it!

@thisniggajoe Yes he does. Deathproof stinks to high heaven even though the first half, Planet Terror was brilliant.

@thisniggajoe Yes he does. Deathproof stinks to high heaven even though the first half, Planet Terror was brilliant. And Basterds is good, but not great...too damn much talking for no reason whatsoever.
