The crowd was shouting Gail Kim's name because they remember her feud with her back in TNA. They knew that she wasn't going to show NO FEAR because she know Kharma longer than any of the other 7 Divas that were in the ring that night. Besides Gail, Natalya also knows Kharma back when they were both in SHIMMER Women Athletes Wrestling, also wrestling against each other. So basically, only 2 out of the 15 or 16 Divas at the time knew Kharma from other wrestling promotions.

I doubt Beth could do likewise. Not saying it's not possible, but I think it's very improbable for Beth to be able to outmuscle Kharma. Beth isnt Chyna, she was on track to be but then she fell off.
