everybody remember, this isn't all fun and games. a 13 year old boy just died there 3 days ago and they still haven't recovered him. make sure you know what your doing and the river is low enough.
I went there. I was like I'm hot, but I'm not jumpin'...There was this guy there, about 16 yrs old, that climbed a tree like 30 ft up. I was like I don't want to see anyone die today. I looked away. I heard a clunk and a spash. He HIT the rock! He came up from the water struggling and crying. He couldn't swim. 6 people jumped in the water after him...He had 2 broken legs...Had to call the ambulance and have him hauled out of there.
@beanstravels2 I was sorry to read about the two accidents that happened at the Deeps last week. Jumping from the Pines always seemed to me to be very dangerous. I hope everyone recovers.
I went there after watching this video. I jumped and it was really fun. I saw a kid climb the tree, it took him forever to jump (he freaked), I don't blame him he was really up there. Finally after peer pressure and not really being able to climb back down, he jumped LOL
We used to live the next street over from Susan Boo, and your cousins Mike, Joey, and David in Minneapolis. They were my kids' best friends growing up. At the time, your uncle Pete lived across the alley from us, too. A very small world.
Take Superior St. one block east of 60th Ave. E. to Occidental Blvd. Turn left here and drive up about 4 blocks. The Deeps is on the right. Be careful where you park, although the road is closed to through traffic when I was there last week.
On Superior Street go 1 block east past 60th Ave. E, and take a left on Occidental Blvd (it becomes Seven Bridges Road just after the Deeps). Also, don't park in front of the Deeps; park on the other side of the stone arch bridge, otherwise you might get a ticket. Abalsiger mentions the Railroad Bridge. I have a video about that too called JUMP TO GLORY. You can find it at my Amitycreek website.
Also just downstream from there just after the Amity and Lester Rivers converge under Superior St there is a railroad bridge and people jump from there as well, there is also some concrete blocks built up on the side for those not brave enough to attempt the railroad bridge.
Is this place right in duluth? Because i've been searching for places to jump up there and have never found any. Would it be possible for you to let me know the general area it's in?
60th avenue east. Heading east(towards the North shore of Lake Superior) on superior street you take a left on Seven Bridges road(right before the Lester River Road) and drive up until you see the Gazebo on the left(no more than a half mile or so)

I used to hang out at the Deeps with Peter Boo, and his brother Chris. This was long ago, back when their dad was the mayor.
