  • thats a super clean sled man

  • Would you mind sharing your clutch weights and spring combo? Trying to tune a 4/6 motor with the same pipes. Motor is not ported like it should be for max power but trying to get it as good as possible.

    thanks

  • That is a very sharp looking sled. Nice find!

  • I want to buy it

  • If u are selling that I will buy it

  • Beautiful sled! I had a '81 also from '87-'93 , would love to get another one

  • @bookertbrown what year was the last for Deere sleds, was it 83 or 84?

  • @quincee33 1984 was the year of the Deere :(

  • @quincee33 1984 was the year of the Deere :(

  • That sled is fuckin sick!! That black with those decals looks so awesome, and its so clean, and it sounds so nice, and it looks so DAMN NICE WITH THOSE TWIN PIPES commin off those polished head bolts. A+

  • was it in that good of condition when you bought it, cuz someone obviously didnt know what they had

  • @DLShack440 They just lost interest in it I guess.

  • Great sled! I have a set of high compression Kawi heads if you want to bump up the power about 10hp.

I also have NOS jugs too!

  • @poopdogsays I have the 2A heads on it, and I bought 2 new jugs from a guy in MN last year when I went through the whole sled. I got a 83 for 50.00 that had been hit hard in the rear, and I put the engine in mine along with the 108 & secondary, gearing, etc. I will keep you in mind when this one burns down.....:)

  • @liquifireman Don't let it burn down! Keep the crank seals replaced and she'll be OK.

Did you get the jugs from Trucker? That's where mine came from.

  • @poopdogsays how much would those heads cost me? im looking at a liquifire and would like to bump the hp up. so far looking at pipes and porting bigger carbs with uni filters

  • @yamaharules163 Pipes and porting isn't really going to do much, maybe a 10hp increase, but the tuning would be a nightmare. The reason the Invaders weren't any faster was because it was already on the ragged edge of what they could do with porting at the time.

I sold the heads last year, but I still have a set of NOS jugs. Check around Kawasikitrax(dot)com It's a Kawi sled forum board. They can help you out. It's been so long since I've been into the Kawi stuff I can't remember shit anymore.

  • I thought that motor looked familiar, I had a 1978 kawasaki invader 440. I could dust off anything on the trail including the cat el tigre 6000. The top end was fast for the time. The liquid cooling allowed tighter engine tolerances, and man that invader would run!

  • awesome sled sad to hear about the pipes though :(

  • @yamaharules163 The stock pipe actually makes more power than the twins. W/O porting, the pipes do nothing but make noise ( kinda miss that ).

  • It seams to me that it idles a little high. I am by no means a vintage John Deere expert, but thats just my take.

  • JD wanted the Liquifire to idle at 3000-3500, so that is where I set it. I have since sold the pipes, they were too loud for the neighbors, and did nothing for hp.

  • @liquifireman

HMMM odd that they would have a 440 twin ideling at 3000+ RPM, but hey, they're the experts. If you want custom pipes that make Horsepower contact Greg at Jaws Performance in Ottawa Ontario. They make GREAT stuff.

  • Looks like a kawasaki engine and drive assembly under the cowling, great reliable engine-if it is.....

  • yep, Kawy 440, same as Kawys sleds of the day minus a few changes

  • nice old john deer man and sounds nice. it's fucking mint

  • thanks

  • nice slippers

  • they are comfy...

  • when you piped it what did you do to the carbs jetting wise? i also seen the registration on it from wisconsin so am i

  • @teamarctic91 it was piped when I got it, it has 110 power jets, 160 mains. Im in Deerfield, just east of Madison.

  • nice i like them old liquifires i'm in jefferson you wanna sell it?

  • beautiful sled. for 100$ you might as well have stolen it. lol

its hard to believe its in such good shape.

  • SOOOOOO CLEANNNNN!!!!!!!

  • i cant beleive you got that for 100 bucks its perfect nice sound to it to

  • That thing is immaculate!

  • i dont think liquid cooled is necesarry on sleds, i mean its cold enough outside for air cooling to work but eh

  • not on warmer winter days

  • generally if there is snow on the ground, its probably not going to be over 40-50 degrees F, and i suppose conservation of space would be a good reason to have liquid cooled.

  • If you ever want to sell that I will make you an awsome offer

  • thanks, it is loud:)

  • nice that thing just barks

  • Beautiful Liquifire!!!

  • thanks, Ive put around 400 miles on it so far, its been running flawless

  • how fast is it?

  • @z24achar

it does 80 on good hard pack, not fast by todays standards, but it is 28 years old....

  • Very nice sled; that's ridiculously cheap!!! I also like your Mustang behind! You should have taken the cover off!!!

    S.S.S.

  • show more video of you riding it....

  • can't go wrong for $275 .... very good find. Looks fantastic! Have fun.

  • Thanks.

  • Nice sled. Like the sound of the twin pipes.

  • dude that thing is awsome

  • thanks! I had one 20+ years ago. I found this one really cheap, put 70.00 into it with new seals, fuel lines, filters, carb rebuild. I couldnt justify spending another 8000.00 on a new sled when we may or may not get snow.

  • yea where did you get the pipe cuz im getting a 91 lynx would like to put a pipe on it

  • The pipes came with the sled. They are made by AAEN performance. I dont think you will find a pipe for a Lynx.

  • very nice sled.
