that mgb had it coming....drove like a douchebag. AND...IDC if he didnt it intentionaly or was blissfully unaware...too bad he didnt get wrecked and taken out of the race.
@LegleHookr The Bee made it back to the track! Lots of pounding with hammers and prying with 2x4s and it looks like a car again. Of course, it blew 2 motors in two weeks, but that's a completely different saga.
@murileemartin yeh but the mgb was squezing the civic, i would have done the same thingand blamed it all on him for coming over and hiting me, wich would be partaly true
YEAH, I would have to agree with scottbirdsall, BAD LINE!!!! You could never pass anyone on the outside of turn 10. Should've backed off much earlier and gone inside or followed. That said, the Bee did move way too much over to the right. But it is the driver in the rear responsibility to come around cleanly. So glad the Bee driver is well. Scary flipping in a convertible.
BS. I passed on the outside of turn 10 plenty of times during this very race. Looks like the bee decided to take the risk of closing the door and lost. Either party could have done something to prevent the collision though. Also, if you are familiar with the track at all, the collision happened before they even got to the slight crest, which is well before the braking zone for turn 10. Had the door not been closed, the passing car seemed to have plenty of speed to get by cleanly.
I ran this race as well. Not saying an outside pass isnt possible but it's a slower line if there's any other cars in the turn. It's the responsibility of the approaching driver to stay clean until he has the nose of his car past the driver seat of the car he's trying to pass. The whole race I never passed on the outside of that turn. Slower traffic stayed to the right. The Bee did a slow move to the outside but the Honda needs to use the brakes and come back to the inside for the pass.
@scottbirdsall Looks like the camera car was going for a pass on the outside, got pushed outside onto the dirt, tried to brake and since the outside wheels have no traction compared to the wheels on the pavement, spun counter-clockwise into the back of the Bee. Looks like an honest mistake to me.
If anyone has any video or photos of the wreck we would love to see them. The driver was fine, the car not so much. It sits in our driveway looking veeeery sad. I will try to rebuild it and bring it back. "SAVE THE BEE!"

This is one of those wrecks that either driver could have averted.
