is it just me or is it really out of sync with the games? The games don't seem quite as responsive when they turn the wheel as when you use the analog sticks.
its kinda sad this is the only good racing wheel for the 360, i have a logitech DriveFX racing wheel and its not smooth at ALL, its a sturdy racing wheel, but compared to racing wheels like the logitech g27 its just crap, so thats why im soon ordering a gt2 racing wheel, since there arent any other good racing wheels for the 360, and im also going to order a ps3 soon, so its nice to be able to switch between the two consoles without changing the racing wheel.
I am thinking bout getting this or sum other kind of wheel will it be compatable for F1 2010 and F1 2011 and how much is this now plus do you get that desk or what eva the wheel and pedals are resting on or r they sold seperate please reply soon
Most of the racing wheels are characterized by an annoying wobble between the steering column and the wheel (the inner feedback mechanism and the wheel), if I had to spend € 500.00 for the item I wanna be sure I won't have any wobble. I want it steady as a panzer wheel!

I'm concerned about this wheels problems with the censors failing. It's the only reason I haven't bought one yet. Of course the support is going to be AMAZING for the guys at inside simracing, but it seems that the customers themselves, Mr. Joe Sixpack, doesn't seem to be getting taken care of. This concerns me, because if I spend $300, I don't want to be left high and dry. I'm torn between wanting the wheel and not wanting to be screwed without support. Not sure what to do at this point..
Just a question- why does the F430 have a manual gearbox in GT5.... It's stupid- even Clarkson got the flappy-paddle version lol, and he hates flappy paddles...

@lErssikeke Have you contacted Fanatec about repairing them ? Also, have you tried to take them apart? There's a fix for them where you shave the foam, or replace it and re-lube it. They should work fine after that.
jeez how much does forza 3 wipe the floor with gt5, its so funny, forza is far better in sound and gameplay, I even prefer the graphics by a mile. sorry has to be said!

@DIETRYING001 GT5 has the real sounds from the actual car but it dosen't sound like it but its the real sound. And although GT5 has poor shadows the in game time and weather adds a bit of realism and Forza is a good game GT5 is also a good game but there is no need to see which is better because GT5 is for PS3 and it is the Forza of the PS3.

It appears that Turn 9 at Suzuka Circuit in GT5 is correct, however, turn 9 in FM3 has to much radius in it compared to the real Suzuka Circuit. GT5 sure does know how to accurately model race tracks.

Why do people always equal easy=arcade? Just because a car is super hard to drive does not make it realistic. If you make a 1:1 comparison on a race track you will notice that driving a real car is actually easier than driving it in many "simulations".
@Fanatec1 Depends on the car. I've driven 3 of the vehicles iRacing simulates and it's very accurate. It's not about "easy" or "hard", it's about accuracy and how the car reacts to your inputs. Hard to explain in just this little comment area, but people who try to develop the wholesale "experience", instead of concentrating on what matters (objective accuracy, data interpolation etc etc..), end up developing games like NFS Shift. Respect to Ian Bell, but his idea of a simulation is delusional.
I notice there's a split second lag between moving the wheel and having it steer in-game. Is this a problem, and does it have something to do with the settings?
Also, I don't have a racing stand, just a table and chair. Does it have a clamp? I saw something that looked like it could be tightened near the bottom. Will this wheel attach to a card table until I can afford to pick up a dedicated stand?
I so freaked out of happiness when I heard about this new wheel with 360 compatibility, I still haven´t bought a fanatec wheel and I´m pretty tired of the G25.
@simracingtonight Yeah, but it must be better than that logitech, flimsy piece of crap. I have the logitech G25 and the shifter is just too flimsy. It could be put into gear with one finger. The stiff feel of the Fanatec shifter I'd assume would feel more realistic. Also, the G25 has issues with GT5.
I want to buy a racing wheel but the problem is I can't find a good wheel stand online that I like. I don't want one of those stands that has a metal pole between your legs when you race.
I like the Racestar wheel stand but they don't ship to the USA.
Is there a really good wheel stand out there I can buy that don't make you race with a pole between your legs that you can buy in the US? I don't want an entire cockpit just a stand for the wheel, clutch and pedals.
I have an F430 and the sound in GT3 was WAY to high. The sound in Forza 3 was a lot closer to the real thing. And like #ibuycheap64 mentioned in GT3 why was the hand coming down when the car has paddle shifters...

Does anyone know what the size of the racing wheel is compared to a real steering wheel. I already have a g27 and was about to spend the money on a 250mm real racing wheel to fit onto my g27. If the wheel for the GT2 is close to a real sized racing wheel i could save myself the money and just buy the GT2 which i eventually plan to purchase anyways.
@sparktite It's more like a real car wheel yes. Thicker grip and one inch bigger than the G27. IF you're looking for PS3 / PC only, try the GT3 RS V2. Same wheel without XBox 360 compatibility which makes it less expensive.
@simracingtonight See i have the g27 and i love that i can have a real steering wheel in place of the regular g27 wheel. Theres tons of mods and i love the thing, but i cant use it on my 360. Id rather play racing games on my 360 since im an achievement whore, but since gran turismo 5 is the only reason i got the g27 im not sure what i should do. Probably just gonna fork up the money for this wheel and just deal with the smaller steering wheel considering ill get force feedback on the brakes.
Still way to expensive for me. They are never gonna do massivly well at 300 quid a wheel. You can get a brand new PC/PS3 or 360 slim for that and still have change left over.

@MrSimi71 iv played both Forza and GT5 at friends but own neither so from a completely un biased point of view, sound, overall visuals, track character (looks not so much as feel) are better in forza 3. i also find forza more fun to play. physics are better in gt as well as premuim cars and variety ie nascar, rally, tracks have more variety.... so in conclusion if i want to play a game thats not retarded arcade forza if i want sim, iracing or rfactor gt just doesnt cut it... its stuck in middle
@MrSimi71 I honestly didn't run enough to set a benchmark.. Which is why my lines look so bad.. ;-) I was just getting a feel for the car and then swapped games. I think I only ran two full laps in each title.

Its not just you. They recorded real engine and exhaust sounds in Forza 3 with a microphone, in GT5 they are synthesized from scratch on a computer "video game sounds".
why is he shifting with shifter on 360 and not on the ps3 ???? :S It confuse me a lot. I want the 911 steering wheel but I don't want to miss something on gt5 because of that...
Forza car seems a bit more twitchy, but it also looked as if the steering needed less imputs than in GT5. Does FM3 use the full 900deg (in your vid and as an option)?
@YoShImUrA53 you can set the wheel to 900deg but forza is only made to support the ms wheel which only does 270deg. which is why it looks more twitchy cuz well...it is...

I have an F430 and the sound in GT3 was WAY to high. The sound in Forza 3 was a lot closer to the real thing. And like #ibuycheap64 mentioned in GT3 why was the hand coming down when the car has paddle shifters...

Just ordered this wheel yesterday :-). Unfortunately there not shipping till the middle of January now :-(. It's either been put back or they've had a lot of orders. Can't wait tho :-)

You guys need to comment while racing, i wanna know whats running through your mind when your using the racing wheel. You didnt even compare how it feels when played on the 360 vs ps3, i figured youd at least cover that, if there are any differences in this "first look" video.

Does anyone know what the size of the racing wheel is compared to a real steering wheel. I already have a g27 and was about to spend the money on a 250mm real racing wheel to fit onto my g27. If the wheel for the GT2 is close to a real sized racing wheel i could save myself the money and just buy the GT2 which i eventually plan to purchase anyways.

@sparktite It's more like a real car wheel yes. Thicker grip and one inch bigger than the G27. IF you're looking for PS3 / PC only, try the GT3 RS V2. Same wheel without XBox 360 compatibility which makes it less expensive.

@simracingtonight See i have the g27 and i love that i can have a real steering wheel in place of the regular g27 wheel. Theres tons of mods and i love the thing, but i cant use it on my 360. Id rather play racing games on my 360 since im an achievement whore, but since gran turismo 5 is the only reason i got the g27 im not sure what i should do. Probably just gonna fork up the money for this wheel and just deal with the smaller steering wheel considering ill get force feedback on the brakes.

Still way to expensive for me. They are never gonna do massivly well at 300 quid a wheel. You can get a brand new PC/PS3 or 360 slim for that and still have change left over.

Hello i have a question
Been into to get the GT3RS V2 for some time now when this baby the GT2 comes up so i was wondering if this wheel works as good as the GT3RS V2 or has there been some issues with it?
I have a PS3 and a PC now but might get a XBOX 360 to so this wheel would fit me good.
Love your show keep it up ,you guys are geting good info about the sim bis out there.

You do know that the Clutch in GT5 is either On or Off, it has no drag like in Forza3 or real life :/

@MrSimi71 iv played both Forza and GT5 at friends but own neither so from a completely un biased point of view, sound, overall visuals, track character (looks not so much as feel) are better in forza 3. i also find forza more fun to play. physics are better in gt as well as premuim cars and variety ie nascar, rally, tracks have more variety.... so in conclusion if i want to play a game thats not retarded arcade forza if i want sim, iracing or rfactor gt just doesnt cut it... its stuck in middle

@MrSimi71 I honestly didn't run enough to set a benchmark.. Which is why my lines look so bad.. ;-) I was just getting a feel for the car and then swapped games. I think I only ran two full laps in each title.

@MrSimi71 LOL I just finished watching and was about to post the exact same thing!!! The Forza engine has more auditory bite indeed. GT5 engine sounds thin and seems drowned out by the typical GT5 tire squeal... Glad to see this wheel though....just wish the package was $100 cheaper.

Its not just you. They recorded real engine and exhaust sounds in Forza 3 with a microphone, in GT5 they are synthesized from scratch on a computer "video game sounds".

Is the clutch pressure sensitive? It is not on the controller and obviously there isn't a clutch on my MS wheel.

Forza car seems a bit more twitchy, but it also looked as if the steering needed less imputs than in GT5. Does FM3 use the full 900deg (in your vid and as an option)?

@YoShImUrA53 you can set the wheel to 900deg but forza is only made to support the ms wheel which only does 270deg. which is why it looks more twitchy cuz well...it is...

It's nice to hear the sounds compared. The engine in FM3 is much nicer than GT5. And, I will always hate the tire squeals in GT.
