  • The Xoom Best Tablet I think I got mine for $250 :)

  • GALAXY TAB WINS !!!

  • rip steve jobs. the announcer of the ipods i buy

  • xoom

  • stop trying to make it smaller i want a decent size one that is big enough to hold not some mouse like the xoom is good so is the galaxy tab but stop trying to go smaller you want something small ?

go out and buy a cell phone

  • @pennjersey83 motorola is chinese

  • if you don't get the xoom on verizon you still get wifi and it costs 499.99

  • 7 inch? That's like the size of a phone screen. What's the point?

  • Gonna go with samsung, Xoom just didn't do it quite right. And I actually like the phone designs, they aren't boring just because they're on cellular devices XD. Xoom is very nice though

  • im returning my xoom and getting the samsung galaxy tab, it was a deal at my job either the xoom for 325 or galaxy for free with contract. But the xoom is so heavy plus i noticed there is no hbo go for it yet and many other apps i like are not on there. Rather carry a light rooted galaxy tab around than a heavy crappy screen xoom.

  • we want tablet not a netbook so i will go with sammy

  • @fossilshale

Go buy your Korean Samsung tab. I'll buy my American Motorola tab.

  • @pennjersey83 remember moto was at brink of extinction, without android there is no moto

  • o yeah do a samsung galaxy s2 review! either then 1.4 ghz dual core or 1.2

  • 6:52 WOAHHHHHHHH DUDE THATS LIKE MAGIC

  • remember, you can always overclock the xoom and make it faster

  • rooted nook color can suck my..... Motorola xoom

  • A rooted nook color beets both

  • I Call B*lls... My Tab 7" is reasonably more brighter when set to maximum than my xoom

  • Yeah, but its also $400 more =P You get what you pay for.

  • Motorola xoom is sooooooo much better than the galaxy tab..

  • I want a linux tablet...

  • @RelentlessCorreHD i beg 2 differ but the screen diffrence is 3.1

  • Hey lisa. im a very big fan of yours and i would really loke to know something or everything about the expensive Vertu Constellation and all about those expensive phones, im looking forward for that review.

    Thanks.

    Yilver N Cortes

  • the galaxy tabs screen is almost as small as my thunderbolt

  • @krazie145 Horay for Thunderbolt! I'm getting mine next month.

  • @krazie145 only 3 inches bigger

  • @RelentlessCorreHD Thats what she said :)

  • I can wait for the galaxy tab 10.1 comes out in June 7 inch tablets are stupid over size phones I'll pass I don't want a tablet if It's not running honey comb

  • I have a question... does the xoom get internet even if your out of a wifi area?

  • @smittyguy710 : XOOM comes in two models...one only with WIFI while other with both WIFI and 3G...

  • @smittyguy710 if you get 3g/4g

  • damn that xoom is huge

  • @johnc425 yes...but for $800 would you rather have a GREAT laptop or a xoom ??

  • i wish motorola was smart enough to put a good display on the xoom. i would've bought it in an instant

  • the samsung screen is outstanding no question ask

  • I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab yesterday at the Verizon store for $199. The cheapest I saw the zoom for was $599. So three to one or roughly the gap between a Miata and a Porsche. Many people say that Android 3.0 will be available on the Galaxy by summer. I'm a real big guy (6'5") but I found all of the 10 inch tablets to heavy to hold one handed with any comfort.

The Galaxy has the same dimensions as my Kindle but a much bigger screen.

  • @Agorante So you paid $199 for the Tab and $480 in air fees? (2 years at $20.00) $679.00 lol I'll wait for the carrier-free WiFi version or carrier-free GSM (and root/ROM it) and save the cash.

  • @tubeaholic

You might want to read up on Present Value - Future Value theory.

  • Motorola xoom beats the galaxy tab by wayyyyyyy far!

  • people complain that 10in tablets are too big and not portable, but they carry their laptop around with them all the time.

and people say that the 7in tablets are too small but they're perfectly fine using their smartphones

  • @loverofpie32 perfect point

  • Too bad both of these tablets are pretty much DOA :(

  • I have the Galaxy Tab and like she says it is a handy, highly portable tablet that I can take anywhere. The screen is fairly responsive, though it does suffer from some lag. The reason I bought it was that it was light, just the right size, and easily portable.

  • This was mostly a review of 2.2 vs honeycomb which doesn't work, but makes sense how you may have gotten carried away with it.

Although the Motorola Xoom seems like a decent product, after working for Motorola I will never purchase anything they make ever again. Mistreating employees, underpaying, massively outsourcing jobs.

I too am interested in the Notion Ink Adam vs. Xoom.

Maybe you can also do a review on the Windows ExoPC.

  • how can u compare a phone+tablet to a big fat tablet that cant fit in ur back pocket?who cares about speed dualcore shit? no matter how fast dualshit u got u cant play ps2 games on there unless the ghz is runing on 2ghz and galaxy tab can run ps1 game fine just the way it run!

  • How can you compare these devices? The Galaxy Tab is more than an year old!

  • this is unfair comparison u should have compared (xoom) with (galaxy tab 10.1)

  • Will the tab be getting a honeycomb update?

  • You cant use the tab without the carrier

  • Apple has what I want. Ipad2 for me.

  • I saw engadget say that 2011 will be the fall of the net book and be replaced with tablets I disagreed with that in November of 2010 and now I have been looking around and it would be hard to disagree with the statement of 2011 being the fall of the net book

  • Well done woman!!!! Your reviews are really useful!!!

  • That's a one huge xoom

  • xoom vs galaxy tab 1....how very useless comparison...

  • @managarm1349 I thought it was very useful...I don't see much difference between them...honeycomb is not going to blow anyone away, that's for sure....

  • iPad 2 is coming out i want it!

  • This isn't even fair. Xoom by a mile.

  • xoom wins hands down I plan on getting one

  • The way it was presented, I kind of would go with the Tab. I think the screen is a little brighter too.

  • @joewilder Samsung with their SuperAmoled screens just make all devices look great.

  • Lisa, Your reviews have grown on me over the past year. I find that they are pleasant, straight forward and informative. Great review. I look forward for your review of the Notion Ink Adam vs. Xoom sometime soon as this is where I am conflicted in thought.

  • I personally will never see the reason why anybody would get one of these tabs (ipad included) over a netbook or any laptop for that matter. They do far much less and are way over priced.

  • @emdognyc It's more of a luxury item. I like my iPad but I can live without it.

  • @mongomondomongo Perfectly said.

  • Excellent comparison review, i see a Motorola Xoom in my future, thanks

  • thanks for the comparison. 7in is the perfect size for portability, but I got my Xoom and I'm loving it.

  • hi

  • Xoom wins on almost every front IMO, except of course portability. But your not going to put the Tab in your pocket anyways, are you? So its kind of a moot point, Xoom wins.

  • @tipoomaster Actually, I carry my Tab in my pocket all the time when I decide to take it with me.

  • @tipoomaster believe it or not, I actually put my tab in my pants pocket!

  • @tipoomaster Galaxy tab wins in media playback too though since its DivX certified.

  • @tipoomaster I use my Galaxy tab as a phone take it EVERYWHERE, put it in my pocket always! it works awesome

  • @tipoomaster tabs are kind of pointless if it is not really portable...unless you just keep it at home...-_-
