By the way, it has been empirically proven that the Indian soldiers in WWI did not have to withdraw because of illness. It was the British soldiers in the Indian regiments that went sick, they were not suited to the European front after serving overseas. We should not forget Burma as well which was part of India until 1936.
Nepal was a seperate entity because it was an Indian Kingdom but had full sovereignty after its contribution in 1857 (thanks to my Great Great granfather Jung Bahadur) and in WW1, thus remained separate from British India.

Thanks for this video. You are doing a great job in highlighting the contribution made by the Indian soldiers during WW1. Let's not forget that 100,000's also fought in WW2. It is also important to remember the British, Americans, Soviets, Free French, Eastern Europeans, Chinese, Africans and others who sacrificed themselves in the World Wars for the freedom we take for granted today.

It is upsetting to see the Indian parts of the British empire not get recognition.
But remember the way was nearly 96 years ago. And for at least 60 years after the war the Indians were hugely respected for this.
just under 17,000,000 millions people died in the first world war. It doesn't get the respect it deserves, largely because major film companies are based in California and the US did not have an enormous part to play in the war, so low funding is put into it.

By the way, it has been empirically proven that the Indian soldiers in WWI did not have to withdraw because of illness. It was the British soldiers in the Indian regiments that went sick, they were not suited to the European front after serving overseas. The Indian and Nepalese troops faired well in the conditions due to them coming from the Northern Regiments.

My mother's cousin is Gen Narendra Bahadur Singh (Gurkha Rifles) former ADC to Lord Mountbatten, he also saw your video but made the comment about that in the beginning, he said "Our boys were Indians, lived, served and died as Indians. There was no Pakistan of Bangladesh to divide our people back then."

We should not forget Burma as well which was part of India until 1936.
Nepal was a seperate entity because it was an Indian Kingdom but had full sovereignty after its contribution in 1857 (thanks to my Great Great granfather Jung Bahadur) and in WW1, thus remained separate from British India.
Thus I believe that the video should simply state India and Nepal, because those soldiers lived and died as Indians, not Pakistanis or Bangladeshis, they were not part or believe in the politics

well brother i cud not help but correct some facts, in world war 2,around 540,000 Indian troops fought for the british. The bulk were the Sikhs, punjabis, gurkhas and Rajputs.Even the other martial groups like Jats, Marathas, dogras,garwahlis were not heavily involved in WW-1 the way they were in WW-2.Ofccourse people from south did join, but to say many ppl from mysore and mumbai karnataka joined wud be factualy incorrect. jaihind

Thanks for this video. You are doing a great job in highlighting the contribution made by the Indian soldiers during WW1. Let's not forget that 100,000's also fought in WW2. It is also important to remember the British, Americans, Soviets, Free French, Eastern Europeans, Chinese, Africans and others who sacrificed themselves in the World Wars for the freedom we take for granted today.

britain had no national army, we just drafted in times of war, empre soldiers were seasoned professionals.

most of VCS were won by nepalese soldiers(GURKHAS).. Its been 13 uptodate to gurkhas and 1 still alive living in hounslow,uk.

I meant in the First world War, 9 Indians were awarded th VC (2 gurkha's). though i think i was very very wrong about them getting the most VC's in WW1.
