since you opened it i could be that a screw is missing or if you can find a yellow ring around a small hole on top of the console try pushing that forward
@567Media really thats all it took? but i dont think thats the issue 4 mine cuz as u seen it still spins the disc as normal but the laser goes up like a inch every time it attempts 2 make a read, but ill try that trick and hopefully thatll solve my problem. thanx 4 the advise.

but if your going to buy a new one make sure you find out what brand it is first.
