  • I fell asleep to this the other night. Had the best sleep I ever had in a long time. :)

  • Nice...

  • Shit talkers, they'll miss me when I'm not in town anymore.

  • My favorite SG song. From the scratched guitar string beginning second measure (razor sharp), to the distorted, shaken vocals (Led Zep, Hats Off For (Roy) Harper), to the genius of harmonizing the lead guitar with the rhythm guitar during the breakdown @ 4:37.

Also, following the theme of hanging, the uncontrolled guitar solo as the principle struggles to breathe can't be denied. He slipped, and had second thoughts. "Fell too far to start again".

This is 6:07 of time that goes by too quickly.

  • I've always LOOVED this song. It's definitely my favorite on that album. I love melodies, the lyrics and the bluesy riffs.

  • Im glad the uploader thinks it's a good thing there\s people like him out there making a difference xD Lol that's pathetic

  • This song, for me, is a mix of... Suicide and nightmares. It's one of my favorite Soundgarden songs, and maybe it's a bit weird to say, but this song has a lot of sex appeal, haha.

  • The guy posting that almost litterally made himself cum by sucking to his cock.

  • Sleep tight for me, i'm gone...

  • Soundgarden is back together, and i couldn't be happier about that!

  • Soundgarden is back together you guys...

  • I always felt disappointed that Soundgarden pulled the plug after Down on the Upside since to me they were a band that got better with every album and Down on the Upside was such a brilliant album that seemed to be under-rated just because Soundgarden were associated with grunge and that was becoming uncool...

  • this is the most classic of rock in modern times...easily one of the best soundgarden songs. i hope the new stuff is continuation of their lack of any bad material. down on the upside was overlooked to say the least.

  • highly highly underrated song

  • agreed, Cornell never was a junkie. Yes, he did smoke tons and tons of cigarettes and drank heavily cause of his depression, but no, he didn't do any drugs.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lawldudz wrong. He did. He just didn't wear it like a badge like a lot of rock stars do.

  • @Lawldudz He said he had tried some drugs. For example, he said the inspiration for 4th Of July came in an acid trip

  • @blackholedays yeah I know, I meant that he never did drugs during his time with Soundgarden (though I think he still did drugs when they just started, but he quickly stopped, I dunno). For example, Chris said he smoked weed at the age 12, by 14 he "had moved on to stronger things" :D

  • Sleep Tight... don't let the Applebite XD

  • Even though I'm a metalhead, I appreciate great music like this.

And all I can say is, I love Soundgarden. :)

  • Is it weird that this used to be my lullaby when I was little?

  • @zarisawesome77 No, it means you had awesome parenting.

  • @zarisawesome77 Not to me. Both my sons were listening to SG nonstop in the womb. I would drive with my stereo blaring.

  • This is Soundgardens "Into the Void"

  • @littlegiggles03c

Never thought I'd see a comment comparing Soundgarden to Nine Inch Nails, haha. They are two of my favorite musicians though. And I agree that they are similar. They start out kind of small then build to something magnificent near the middle to end. I mean, a lot of songs are like that, but these two do it somewhat more similarly than most for two very-different genres such as these.

  • Very dark song. Its referencing suicide by hanging. Still one of my favorites. Chris' voice is so powerful and commanding

  • one of the best 5 albums i ever listen to

    totaly underrated

  • one of the best 5 albums i ever listen to

    totaly underrated

  • This song kills!! Take the best of Sabbath and Zeppelin, roll it into a fat blunt and you got Soungdarden.

  • there comeing to my fucking town and i have no faith in seeing them no one to take me D: mabey if i hadnt found out theyd be here tommorow i could go :(

  • @FellOnSoundGarden

    lol

    damn.

I'm gonna have to disagree with the "straight as they come" part.

  • i just came!!ALOT eeeeeee

  • Chris Cornell - one of the few that didn't perish at 27.

  • @RohRohToday Chris never did drugs, so he's irrelevant in that aspect. Layne made it past 27, so shoutouts to him..

  • @MrTufflong Well he made it past 27 and is still around now which is what I was saying.

  • @MrTufflong actually he did use heroin for a short period of time. I think thats why he looks sickly in his Euphoria Morning album

  • @slash4216 he drinked like a madman and was a chain smoker around that time, but heroin? no. unless you have a source to back up that statement.

  • @omegalen well I read somwhere thats what he was on. He said he checked himself into rehab so... idk

  • @MrTufflong: Chris didnt do much hard drugs, he has had cocaine/pill/alcohol problems but he was never in danger like Layne or Kurt were, of being swallowed up by addiction. He did do lighter/psychedelic drugs though, and Lollapalooza '92 he got stoned with Pearl Jam and then they played Outshined together, it was funny and awesome :P and 4th of July was written while under the influence of LSD

  • @RohRohToday thank GOD

  • @RohRohToday thank God!!! thank the universe!!

  • I'm as straight as they come, but Chris Cornell is the only guy I would go gay for. Yes, he has probably one of the greatest rock voices ever, but more importantly, he is a musical and lyrical genius.

  • wow that intro solo

  • Sing it Thayil!

  • soundgarden....Metallica on valium??? sooooo gooooood.

  • "Shadow face, blowing smoke and talking wind, lost my grip, fell to far to start again...." Cornell knows how to say something without being generical or too ambiguous, he just knows what to say.

  • i remember that stinky,smelly,greesy-hair of me B4!! hooked up in grunge!!! it is my foundations, also "skinyard"

  • Definitely one of their best. I miss the 90's. Times when we had so much talent, there wasn't room for these sh*t top 40 pop rock bands to become famous.

  • @rockon76er AMEN

  • this song gets better and better every time i hear it.....

  • my favourite soundgarden song, love'em

  • i love soundgarden sooo much if soundgarden was a girl id fuck her

  • Musically sublime. Will you listen to this band's timing and rhythm.

It doesn't matter how complex or simple any particular song is, when Soundgarden do things right they Do Things Right.

There is no rock band in history that makes Soundgarden look like a bad band - there aren't many modern acts you can say that about.

  • please, please soundgarden come to KC

  • anybody else hear the "Come Together" inspiration in the first riff?:)

  • Great Tune! Thanks for the hard work ;)

  • One of the best songs ever made by my favorite band.. so i guess im biased.. yet this song sums up the mood and feel of the entire album. it doesnt get better than this folks! Thanks for posting this!

  • I hear people trash this album a lot, but I rather like it, especially this song. Great sound.

  • @jstick34 I remember when it first came out I listened to it once and then shelved it for about five years. Then I pulled it out and listened to it in December right when it started getting cold, and now this is one of my favorite albums of all time. Reminds me of good times.

  • @jstick34 anyone that trashes this album is someone that couldn't write a single good song themselves, much less an entire catalog worth of genre-defining music . Always consider the source.

  • One of their finest songs. Thanks for posting this.

  • Remember everything is just black or burning sun!

  • hard to sleep tight knowing real music like this has gone extinct.

  • @MrKillerhaven i heard they're back together or something

  • @MrKillerhaven Not extinct, but underground and ignored by mainstream forever

  • @MrKillerhaven That's why I make sure I listen to Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Faith No More, and Primus daily. It helps me cope with the pain of knowing that music is dying.

  • Most people are common, that's why they don't recognize or appreciate exquisite art~ let them have their mediocrity...we'll just keep enjoying excellence.

  • this might be my favorite Soundgarden song ever. mainstream has been denied based on lack of understanding

  • Masterpiece. Not only amazing musicians, great songs, beautiful voice, bla bla bla... but an awesome mix and mastering masterpiece, Perfect! 10stars

  • @ description:

good song but get your head outta youre ass.

" Its a good thing theres people like me out there "

you probably like the smell of your own farts you smug and arrogant prick

  • @abiel2332 Well, arrogant or not... everybody loves the smell of his/her own farts XD

  • @blackholedays and if you like the smell of farts your kinda fucked man

  • @abiel2332 I think fischmn was joking; his description was all in good fun.

  • Amazing song, so smooth and moody. Where are the Soundgardens of today?

  • One of my favorite songs ever and definitely my favorite song on that album. I love this song cuz it's very bluesy. Beautiful song.

  • The very most underrated Soundgarden song of all time...absolutley beautiful

  • i just cant stop to listen this...

  • Underated song? maybe... mm. For me not.. Underated Soundgarden ????? :)))

  • Ah, this song is like...gospel-like. One of the most emotional songs I've ever heard. Soundgarden can blow your face off or reduce you to tears, and in this song they can do both.

I really can't stress how amazing this song is musically, lyrically...or production-wise. It's one of the many songs I'd heavily consider having played at my funeral.

  • @LobotomyMadeEasy And yet another completely underated song from a completely underated band, fuck I love Soundgarden.

  • Comment removed

  • Cornell is a great singer but his vocal trucks are just nuts

  • Is it just me or is this possibly their best song? I'm torn between this & 4th Of July.

  • @mrbobawesome One of the hardest bands to pick a favorite song from.

  • @mrbobawesome Slaves and Bulldozers or Mailman. But yes, this is up there. The pure emotion that's thrown in there without the straight up yelling or saying "I'm really fucking angry" is nice, and this is one of those few bands that can do that and do it well.

  • @ThePufferFash Damn! Shame on me for not throwing Slaves & Bulldozers in the mix.

  • awesome solo by thayil.

  • Ever since Soundgarden reunited I have been going back and listening to songs like this and remembering how incredible they are and were. This song just moves me for some reason, I can't even explain it. This is my favorite song off an album full of great songs. 'Down on the Upside', 'Badmotorfinger', and 'Superunknown' are all classic albums and I love that they finally reunited!

    HAIL SOUNDGARDEN!

  • somehow, I can find myself in this song somehow, and well yeah, it's pretty fucked up...

  • the musical shit that nirvana and sound garden spewed out sucked. sorry my opinion. it was in coherant phsyco-babble. Now, the 1980's metal was the absolute best!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @radioWTF uh, npoe. not at all

  • @radioWTF I was just browsing, witch I think I can do, and I commented in a public forum.... THEY SUCK IN MY OPINION. AND YES, I WILL LOOK AND COMMENT WHERE I CHOOSE.

  • Comment removed

  • @radioWTF you freak, i made a typo.... fucking looser

  • @dannyhill1971lives Your opinion concerns me. However, I am on a NudeDragons video.

  • @dannyhill1971lives Ahahahaha you're retarded and have horrible taste in music. That's MY opinion.

  • @dannyhill1971lives yes well you ever heard of the human centipede? No? wikipedia it, i hope your the guy in the middle, bitch.

  • @dannyhill1971lives The majority of 80's metal was more concerned with speed then anything else, including quality(Thrash metal, which isn't all bad) Then there was hair metal, more flash than substance, I like me some AIC, and Soundgarden though

  • 3 aholes

  • 3:50 just epic

  • Best band ever.

  • Muy groso este tema recuerdo mi unica mujer y yo cruzando la cordillera de los andes en moto, muy groso me levanta el espiritu.

  • Upside was a spectacular finish.

  • CC just lets loose on the vocals by the end, fkn awesome

  • love it

  • LOVE IT

  • SOUNDGARDEN IS BACK TOGETHER PEOPLE!!!!

  • better yet, just roll the blunt and crank this shit up!

  • great song

  • Grunge meets swamp blues. Yes indeed.

  • This song just gives me chills.

  • @schism206

me too... it's so underrated. I was hoping they'd play this the other day but no dice, and the even played some rare old school gems like hunted down and beyond the wheel so i figured there'd be a chance!

"remember this. remember everything's just black or burning sun" i love that line

  • @bobshenix i just saw them in MA last weekend, chris cornell still has it. he actually sang better as the show went on, i was impressed. i also heard "most" of the songs i wanted to hear which was great. i would have liked to have heard mailman, hands all over, & pretty noose, or this haha... i wonder if they ever played this song live, can't find anything on youtube for it...

  • I was at the Mansfield show too GREAT SHOW!!! There's only so much time to cover all the bases but hunted down is one of my favorites i could not believe they played it. Apparently they've been mixing up set lists like Pearl Jam does and i saw they played Hands All Over and Gun at mohegan sun earlier. I love Ugly Truth but i'd raather have heard this (T&T) or Head Down, Mailman, theres only so much time tho!

It's cool seeing them play old school and rare songs. I def wanna see them again!!

  • This is my absolute favorite song of Down on the Upside. I love that bluesy riff. I also like No attention a lot.

  • i lose myself when i hear the guitar and then chris voice just blows me away.

yes it is a sweet ride.

  • Beautiful day. Hardly any breeze. Let's go hunting in North Korea. (Aramis Deceives) Just kidding. See?

  • And I hope it's a sweet RIIIIIIIDEEEEEE

  • weed smoking music.

  • Great band but I hate maost of their fans just a bunch of music snobs

  • piss off nosh!

  • reminds me of black sabbath, chris kinda sounds like ozzy, but 100 times better

  • help me Soundgarden you're my only hope, help me Soundgarden you're my only hope, help me Soundgarden you're my only hope, help me Soundgarden you're my only hope

  • @KBala4 soon we will all be saved.

  • @KBala4 i understand

  • the first time i listened to this song i was reading Batman: Year One so know when ever i listen to it i think of Batman. i think its a pretty gnarly combo

  • This, along with Let Me Drown, Head Down & Drawing Flies are my favorite Soundgarden songs!

Without question, the best band that came out of the 90's, & one of my top ten bands of all time!

  • I hope they play this one at Lollapalooza.

  • Man... this shit blows my mind, Chris's voice is a mind rape. Love the song and album, stuff like this just doesn't come by anymore. Miss 90's, fuck the new millenium.

  • @DeathDjango - Cage the elephant (free love, drones), Black Keys (tighten up, your touch)...No iconic voice but those are 2 rockin bands

  • this song is tight! and its getting tighter and tighter every time i hear it! xD

  • This song blowing my mind.

  • Shadow face,Blowing smoke and talking wind

Lost my grip,Fell too far to start again

A sudden snake,Found my shape and tells the world

Remember this,Remember everything is just black

    Or burning sun,And I hope it's a sweat ride

Slip tight for me,Sleep tight for me I'm gone

Warm and sweet,Swinging from a window ledge

Tight and deep,One last sin before I'm dead

A sucking holy wind,Will take me from this bed tonight

And bloody wits,Another hits me and I have to say goodbye

  • This probably was their best album.... n ironically their last.... i still remember spending a whole 3 days looking for this album in New Delhi markets, nd those jerks hadnt heard Soundgardens name. The funny part was they kept suggesting i buy Michel Jackson... I still hv that cassette, although it dosent play due to the zillions of runs i gave it.

  • I remember waiting for this album to come out I wore out Superuknown I use to cruise around in my 65 GMC pickup beat to shit with my 78 Black Les Paul

Custom learning Soundgarden my original Superunknown book is like the old testament its so torn up I lived a grungy life and I would do it again

  • @maicodude69 That's dedication. I don't know how many times I had to use the cd scratch remover on my Badmotorfinger. Now that I think about it, I don't know how many times I cursed a tape deck for eating my Louder than Love. Had to re-spin the tape on that one so many times to the point the tape finally gave. The new world ended up giving us something for our strife, online digital music as well as the means to store it on computer.

  • this brings back so many memories...i love this music. i still cant believe they're gone.

  • @Ryerlyn maybe you missed the reunion news? They are back!

  • @vcough wth?! really? is there new material?

  • no word at all yet. I predict some summer festival shows, but I personally think new material is pretty unlikely. they've given nothing away though.

maybe Reading or Lollapalooza. I hope

  • @J0NNO Lollapalooza was just confirmed. plus they are reissuing Hunted Down and Nothing To Say.

  • @Eifler121 thanks for the message. yeah I've been watching the lollapalooza line-up daily...now I just wish I was American.

but yeah, the re-release should be good. so happy they're back doing stuff.

  • @vcough wth?! really? is there new material?

  • I haven't even heard a quarter of all things Soundgarden and I'm loving it. I'm savoring it, this shit's gotta last me a lifetime because music like this just doesn't come around anymore.

  • You need to check out user/fluttergirl1, shehas a lot of videos of gig Soundgarden did at the Off Ramp in Seattle. Or just type in

    Soundgarden Offramp

  • @uthertheking or does it? Patiently waiting for soundbites from the reunited SG.

  • BEST BAND EVER.

  • @mumpump Best band ever.

  • @magus77578 , not quite. Best band? Led Zeppelin!

  • Chris Cornell could make Fox News and the phone book sound sexy.

  • This song=the sex

  • Yeah... very sexy song.

  • You're all honourary Soundgardeners. For ONCE a decent youtube commentary not plagued by trolls and idiots. Head High!

  • It just doesn't get any better than Soundgarden, hope they come around Greensboro. =)

  • This and Limo Wreck are my absolute favorites. The breakdown in this song is KILLER!

  • Totally. Ditto everything you just said.

  • i want more!

  • Foxy song !! Wooohooo !! I love it !! I'm so happy Soundgarden is back !! Wish they will come soon in Paris, after all these years they due me that: I must be the youngest Soundgarden fan cause I was 4 years old when I discovered them !! I still listen to it !! Cornell rocks but last songs he did were shitty !! Really !!
