I was filming from private property for some of it, with owners permission & told police they could have full uncut version if requested also it was in their interest if a complaint was made to have everything on film, as they were acting correctly.

Marines keep their backs straight, their hair buzz cut short and the police would have a heck of a lot harder time restraining an American Marine, mainly because Marines are trained for wartime combat. @kwvaussie the police did comment on me filming (about 1 Min cut out of details given to officer. I was filming from private property for some of it, with owners permission & told police they could have full uncut version if requested also it was in their interest if a complaint was made to have everything on film, as they were acting correctly.

@kwvaussie i think you will find it matters a lot, if you are muslim the police treat you very very differently eg if they bust you they will bust a normal person at 5am and charge in full force, if your muslim they give you a weeks warning that they will bust you then they knock politely and ask permission to enter

Well done to the officers for keeping their cool. This is the best way to do it, with several officers as then there's reduced chance of the suspect being injured. Remember, the Police's aim is to restrain, not beat or injure.

Marines keep their backs straight, their hair buzz cut short and the police would have a heck of a lot harder time restraining an American Marine, mainly because Marines are trained for wartime combat. I'm not sure about the British police's tactics though.

@ragsmel I think most US marines would have a little more respect than that in the first place. I would have thought if someone with a military background was really kicking off and giving a lot of problems officers could opt to deploy CS spray (some military will have done exposure to this, but the UK police stuff is extra strong) Baton strikes could be used or taser deployed.

@spurs19831983 Having been sprayed with 3% solution in a fogger can I can tell you, it hurts a lot, and does make you close your eyes, which is the real advantage of it. Out of interest where is that, in most US states they use about 3% as standard.

@Xkumvatdude This is UK police showing respect for a humans rights. He has to be treated as innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The police are not to enact punishment the person may be innocent. He has been restrained safely and is not a threat, all done without causing any undue harm. Where as I suppose in your country he would have been pepper sprayed, then tazed, handcuffed, tazed a few more time for good measure and beaten half to death even though he may be innocent.

I can assure you that no taser or pepper cpray was required for a suspect of that threat level, just a good arrest technique and the possibility and confidence to effect same without getting one's ass and job on the line.
