You would have to write everything back to the original config file - the best thing to do, other than restoring a backup would be to reinstall the game.

This was the most fucked up game to PC. When i play livivng on a prayer, i cant play, because there are only a colored line, and when i try to play on quick play, i can only choose the songs, but not play them.

You should have the config file (have you actually ran the game?) If you still don't have it... create the file in notepad but change the file extension from .txt to .xml and then paste the generated code into the file. Save, and run the game.

I think you have a point - I know that this is the latest version of the game. With guitar hero they are so unstable on the PC you have to have the latest patch.

The best thing to do would be just create a file called that. Open up notepad, copy the code in. When you save the file, change the file type to all files (under where you put the file name in) and then call it AspyrConfig.xml

QUESTION: Is there a mod that will not allow 3+ keys? I want to play VERY HARD difficulty with GHWT but i won't be able to hit the 3 plus notes -_-

playing GH3 with keyboard really do suck, i use the keys A S NP1 NP2 NP3, and having to strum is useless. In GHWT i could bind these keys to strum at the same time, making it a lot easier. That doesn't seem to work in GH3 though. Any ideas steve?

I used to have GHIII, and i swear it had the options to change the keys.

Yeah, here it is: Options>Controller>Configure Keyboard and then you can change the keys in there. Hope this helps!

If you would read my question, that's not what I wrote. I just wondered if you could try to make a config to overwrite/change game files to force aspyrconfig.xml to have 3 more strum choices. I play with the keys A, S, comma, period and -

Would be nice to be allowing to strum using those keys also, making it a lot easier when playing with keyboard since my adapter to USB haven't come yet.

Yeah, very possible! Sorry about not quite reading your question.

All I would do would be to add more keys under the "Keyboard_Guitar" section, add more keys (numbers) under the Up and Down. I shall have a look at it next week.

I'm having a look into the menu controls thing, however - If you just use your mouse buttons. Left Click = Up Right Click = Down

i need help when i generate the controls and i copy them into the xml file and then when i try to save it it says something about the unicode that some letters will be lost if i save in in unicode so if i click save some letters are lost and it doest work ... i try to change it to onother unicode i saved it but then it still doenst work (n)

It is a useful tool though - means you can use any home-made guitars you made for GHIII

This could be a useful program, because I can't stand the default control scheme set with the game... but after setting any controls, like honx8 said, you can't move up and down in menus. Pretty much makes the game impossible to play from that point on. Disappointing.
