  • we want LotR in 3D remake

  • 3D movies suck, until theaters actually stop using projectors and start using actual screens with 3D technology, we'll never experience crap in theaters.

  • 5k?! holy shit....

    if 1080p looks amazing so....

  • THE HOBBIT :-)

  • WTF 48 RedEpic cameras!

    One Red Epic costs $50000!

  • makes me proud to be half kiwi :D

  • Everytime I see these production videos it just makes me want to be involved on something as big and technologically driven with such a great concept :( Might just come out to NZ and try and get involved? :P

  • ohh that is sick i have pair of those 3d glasses u get in batman arkum asylum game of year edition and i;m looking through them right now to see the art work in 3D and its FREEAKING AWESOME wow its not perfect (i can see the old man in the middle very well but the whole picture is a bit out of sync that's all) i only have an HD tv but it still looks awesome

  • The Hobbit was never really on my #1 must-see list, but this video and how they're talking about the 3d and framerate is getting me pretty hyped!

  • This is looking amazing so far. So glad PJ came back to do these films!

  • Peter Jackson is the best.

  • please please please get bethesda to make the hobbit game, haha i wish

  • im not excited that theyre shooting it in 3D. 3D has always been a awkward gimmick.

  • @rjaafar No no you should be extremely glad that they're shooting in 3D, all movie productions since Avatar have simply been converted into 3D after shooting. What they're doing here is using 3D technology to its fullest, not using it as a gimmick but to enhance the experience for the viewers.

  • I want to be Peter Jakson when I grow up.

  • it would be an insult to watch this in 2d

  • @ThMaggotUtube true that. I wish more people realized this and were more accepting of 3D film. I'll definitely watch in 3D

  • the drawing in 3d is a joke

  • that was awesome

  • December 14, 2012 will be the 4th best day of my life.

  • Comment removed

  • Gandalf in the 3D glasses just made my day

  • Gotta love the censorship

  • Yeah, I would watch a Tom Bombadil!

  • This will be the most technologically advanced film to date, glad i've got a 3d projector waiting.

  • Peter Jackson got chubby again! :(

  • I'm trying hard not to have a geek-gasm, but I smile like a gibbon when I see Gandalf the Grey again.

Don't stop. Do the Silmarilion next. Tell the story of Féanor, Beren and Luthien, Turin, the fall of Gondolin, Hell right now I'd even watch a Tom Bombadil movie.

  • I would clean toilets, for free, in order to work in this movie.

  • hmm peter has put a bit of weight on :(

Last Vlog he looked a lot skinner.

  • Gandalf and Frodo look the same, excellent. This movie will be great.

(I know we couldn't really see Elijah's eyes, but still he doesn't age.)

  • The Hobbit could be the one film that will actually invest me into 3D.

  • LotR (and now the Hobbit) have the best behind-the-scene stuff in any movie

  • hi

  • Never seen so much fan service for a film so far before it's release. Other filmmakers should take note!

  • I hope this makes 2 billion dollars like Avatar. It looks like the 3D in this will either match or exceed what was done with Avatar, which was absolutely its main selling point (along with the animation).

I love Peter Jackson. Him and Christopher Nolan are the two best directors alive at the moment.

  • @iHoldeni Christopher Nolan especially.

  • @iHoldeni 2B$ is pretty realistic with this one actually, take the audience of the past movies, you have 1B+ already, add their kids this time, since Hobbit should be more accessible for them, add raised 3D ticket prices, add the now decade old legend of the original trilogy, add the fact it's the same effect company behind Avatar, with PJ at helm this time, add the universal appeal of Tolkien, and getting to 2 billion seems very doable.

  • @iHoldeni R.I.P. Stanley Kubrick :(

  • @iHoldeni yeah it definately looks like they know what theyre doing, i think its gonna be the best 3d ever cause its fully incorporated not just a gimmick like in other films

  • Peter is looking plump again.

  • HAHA THUMBS UP FOR GANDALF!

  • 8:50 how the hell did they draw the exact same drawing that's amazing!

  • Thx a lot Peter Jackson!

  • the 3d concept art at the end is immense! Those concept artists where incredible to draw 3D dont think I ever seen that, used my 3D glasses and it worked their sketches!

  • December 2012!!!???

  • @Andymanse8 no Holiday fool! Summer 2012!

  • @PolitiekincorrectTV .. 10:08, Holiday as in EVERYONE is on a holiday. Which is Christmas 2012. Only kids get a holiday in the summer..

  • Looks amazing

  • 3d does nothing for me, all it is, is a little closer... and movies are meant to be on a screen, it doesnt do anything for me when it comes at me, what, i gotta look with glasses now... jeez

  • 02:33 Gandalf in shades! :D makes him look more hardcore.

  • i so cant wait! this is just amazing!

  • peter jackson is one of the few directors I actually trust to do 3D right

  • I really can't wait for the movie!!! The movie looks fantastic! Sucks how long we have to wait!!!!
