It's websites, media that made me find about "the very wealthy family" I had never noticed though there are quite a few men with that surname in the public eye in Latvia. I found that father was "a very wealthy family" till 1996. How could Ernest be wrapped in a cotton wool if his father couldn't find spare time to see him at the time and mother was a struggling actress? Jealousy could step in when father's money and 6-year hard work with V.Ginters enabled G. to go to Pilic academy.

You are right, he is very good, but he does not seem to have the hunger to win. He has no coach and travels the world with his very rich father on their personal jet staying in 7 star hotels. That or hitting a ball over a net.....seems he has made his choice....shame really.
You are wrong. Ernests got a coach 2 weeks before the US OPEN started, Olivier Morel. He only travels in a private jet sometimes and they only spend the money they need to. His parents broke up when he was 2 and has lived quite a hard life until now. Give him a break. I think with a new coach he will achieve something by the end of the year, hopefully. At least he took Murray further than Wimbledon so lay off. His coach has worked wonders so far that was his best match all season.
Give me a break......thats enough to help with his laundry.
The guys is talented but lazy. His life has no direction. For his talent he should be in the top 10. He has been wrapped in cotton wool, no drive. no need too.
Daddies money (multi millionaire) will take up the slack.
Casper. Are you a clairvoyant that you have seen a personal jet that they have never had? The hunger to play, improve and win was is what singled out Gulbis among scores of other beginners as his coach remembers. If it were not so today, he would be busy at his higher school and not on court.

Gulbis first started playing tennis with his grandmother His father, Ainārs, is an investment businessman and his mother, Milēna, is a theater actress. The second of five children, Gulbis has three sisters Gulbis comes from a sporting family and his grandfather, Alvils, was one of the starting five players on ASK Rīga, the Soviet Union basketball team that won the European Championships. His other grandfather, was a popular actor and film director. He comes from a very wealthy family.
Casper. Valdis Ginters coached for 6 years till the age of 12. Should we forget this? Milena for many many years is FORMER actress. Gulbis was the FIRST child to his mother, a drama student. He has HALF-sisters and a HALF-brother.
Gulbis was born in USSR. Formally there was no private property and therefore no rich people. Theatre actors' salaries were miniscule. Grandfather was an outstanding actor, yet he lost his job and not long before his death directed his ONLY - 4 episode TV film.
Casper.Of course,Ernest Gulbis himself has earned something, too. There are scores of other players with rich fathers, bios and wikipedias find other things to say,This fact is not repeated like a constant refrain and does not make a fellow player speak about banning the son from courts.
Murray is my favourite too, but it is not the reason for me to make allegations of the kind that you leave below Gulbis' videos. Good that Gulbis doesn't read any comments.
Casper.Thank you for your posts. They are good for Latvia's image. it's difficult to hide the fact that we are the poorest of all EU countries. You are true. Gulbis is so rich that he even has 2 families. How did you learn that he wanted for nothing coming through the tours?
It was a well-known French player's comment about banning.
casper.Media engages in "creative writing".Hope it's not also your job and you will switch to tennis and give a break to your repetitive and amusing "private jets, 7 star hotels".
Everyone engages in creative writing and also hard luck stories, Gulbis is anything but a hard luck story. But a young guy who has the financial support to take his talent to a whole new level and hasnt....thats the saddest part of it all.
But good luck on your Gulbis PR job, shame most of the media and public/players who know about him, dont agree with your nice fairly tale idea of him..
you can´t judge his desire to do well..just because his family has money ,doesn´t mean he´s not a humble, hard working guy..do you know him personally to judge him?, I don´t think you do!
I love gulbis...

Who spoke about banning him?
He has a rich family and has wanted for nothing coming through the tours, makes his want slightly different from the rest.
Gulbis is a professional tennis player not a 10 year old girl with a confidence complex give me a break..

You are seriously starting to sound like his nanny.
There are many poor countries, they dont play on it. Glubis got the best of the best....it happens.
Stops him having the gut hunger to win tho, as you can see by his performance over the last few years, or lack off.
Gulbis back ground is commented on by media, players anyone knowing anything about Tennis.
Im not interested in Latvia's image this is not a party political broadcast, its a tennis player
