wow whats the deal with that upward throw? he barely flexes his arms and the guy goes flying up 30 yards in the air??? LAME *turns around and writes on notepad* (note to self: must learn that trick!)
I just got this game for the arcade, and it's a pretty good one I think. There's a slight problem with my board though, and I can't use players 3, and 4. My cabinet is a two player one, and the D.D. Crew board I have is the 4 player version. Is there anyway for me to use the third, and fourth players, or am I stuck being able to use only the first two? Any help on this issue would be great.
This was a great game, but the collision detection didn't allow you to hit more than one enemy at a time like in Final Fight where you could hit groups which meant there was always one baddie having a stab at you! If this small fault had been fixed I'd say this game was the Best scrolling beat 'em up ever made!
The Cable Lift in Stage two is a perfect example of what is lacking in games these days....Where are those Karate guys Jumping up From or Down from to get onto the Cable Lift? Who cares! We need more game with a total disregard for realism. I want to see Knifers that come at you "Arm Fully extended Robot Downward Stab" style.
Correction, the rest of "crew's" throws do affect enemies, but for some reason, the standard white guy's throws seem to have no effect. However, if you pick up enemies and throw them, it seems to have some limited effect. Still doesn't do anything for this game's absurd difficulty.
Wow, this has to be one of the worst beat-em ups I've ever played. Sure, the music and laughably bad dialogue are enjoyable to hear, but the gameplay FAILS......HARD. The three other characters, essentially, suck, and might as well be broken. You can only hit enemies one at a time, which is a big no-no for any beat-em up. Even throwing enemies has no effect on the other opponents. What an utter disaster.
The music brought me to thinking about the R&B group Bell Biv Devoe "Poison" track which came out around the same time as this game - heh. James Brown is the most sampled voice in the history of music. Anyways, I used to think D.D. Crew was a loose sequel to DJ Boy. Oh well...
this game reminds me of double dragon thats what i kinda thought at first when its called d.d crew, i thought it meant double dragon. cool musioc in this game
I played this in Brooklyn NY 1991 along with Captain America, & The Avengers this Game was Pretty Hard, and a lil' Cheap I never got the Time to Beat it either.
How do you do the standing throws on this? Thanks

Very interesting settings like the tram, watching the city go by as you fight Bruce Lee. Looks like a tough game otherwise.

As far as background music goes, I think D.D. Crew is in the Top 5 games that provide kickass background music.
SacTownRaider 4 years ago 12
so what are the other 4?
MaximusDread 4 years ago
Here's my list of the Top 5 games/series that I think provide great background music. In no particular order:
- The Metal Gear Solid series, all of them.
- Zombies ate my Neighbors (SNES).
- D.D. Crew
- Captain America and the Avengers (For arcade, the ports suck)
- Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (Arcade)
Do you agree or disagree? If you disagree, what are your Top 5?
SacTownRaider 4 years ago
I almost forgot. Violent Storm (Arcade) is my honorable mention.
SacTownRaider 4 years ago
My Top 5 are (in no order):
- Street Fighter III (the whole series)
- Sonic on Sega Genesis (not the new ones, nothing but metal)
- TMNT games
- Streets of Rage
- The simpsons Arcade

not bad for a final fight clone, plus the music is really funky (the first stage's music reminded me of Heavy D and the Boyz)
