Hey Nokia, I hope you change your 5 navigation key to a track pad. so that it can be more fun and interesting for people who loves Nokia. Especially do it on Series 40, if your still using it.
This is gonna be very very helpful in countries like Africa too where public transport is scarcely available and distances are big and cell phones tariffes are expensive.
hi nokia.. i am having a lot of confusion with this video
i would be grateful if you helped me out
does this instant community require internet or cellular network (SMS), because, the phone shown in this video are very low range phones that do not have wifi let alone internet access, and if it uses cellular network, like SMS for instance, dont we require the recepient's number to send them the message.. also the phones of the recepient do not have wifi, so how does this work?
@nkhan4 donno but what i do know is that EVERYONE uses nokia in india, i havent seen any iphones or any andriod based phones that people use. there are a few who use sony but its more then safe to say that nokias' biggest market is in india
@crossforced is it because nokia makes one of the most affordable quality products? i think thats why. you can get a decent phone for like 50 dollars but i'm sure people who can afford paying for iphones and blackberries would get those. I'm originally from Pakistan and thats how the divide is there. The elites (or ppl with money) have iphones and bb's.. products that are far ahead of nokia for now.
@nkhan4 yes, ive seen taxi drivers and homeless people with pay as you go nokia phones. im sure there are people who have iphones in india but it comes down to maintenance, you drop a nokia its easy to switch parts, but you drop a iphone or BB then ur buying a new phone. more so the environment doesnt really allow us to use Iphones or BB, far too much precipitation and dust gets under the screens and with nokias its easy to clean out, with apple or BB..ur buyin a new phone. theft is also big.
@crossforced i dont' think dust and precipitation is that big an issue. my friends have been using iphones and bb in pakistan for a while and no issues. fixing the phones is no biggie either, my friend had to send his iphone for screen replacement to dubai but it was done. the same problems u mentioned with iphones and bb, high end nokia devices have the same problem, don't u think?

@BadLazyBoy i agree, my entire family was a nokia family till nokia just stopped making good phones, i think their last impressive streak ended with the nokia n95 8GB which was my family's last nokia, since the other companies are doing so much more, and symbian needs a a real bad makeover and trim teh fat. its so slow!

Very good idea especially since Nokia is very popular in such regions.
Won't work in west-europe or north-america since the nokia market share isn't that big there.

so its an SMS version of "twitter"?
you post a message on an SMS message board and all subscribers are updated , or is there something more?
like a local private radio network signaling within one cell-tower?
like push-to-talk but with messaging?
