i think someone stepped on my screen. There's a small crack on the glass, and now when I turn on my phone the background looks like it has ink leaked out of it?? Is this fixable by getting a new LCD display?

when plugging in or removing the screen, it usually will break. it is insanely sensitive, the ppl in these videos do not emphasize on this. And they dont show the phone after

Probably, your LCD has disconnected when you were monting back the casing. Open, and try to fix it ... Good luck !

I put back broken LCD and the screen did lit up again (but i can't read anything because it is broken).

Hey if you have removed the warranty sticked and you have insurance from the cellular company would they deny a insurance claim from you because it has been removed? I'm not taking about the waranty from htc.

hmm, my other comment is lost in cyber. My comments also for myself for future reference

1/ for a htc p3600 it is a bit different. Take 5screws

2/ get the back of first, but look out for part where you load the battery. The case needs to come over this

3 now we have the motherboard, you need to unscrew on tiny screw (not with the screwdriver from the package)

4/ unplug 2 connectors

5/ replace lcd/touchscreen

Hello, thanks for the video, i just received the lcd screen from ebay.

however i am having a lot of difficulty replacing the screen.

i can not remove the back of the phone

approx 2min20sec-2min35sec in the video.

do you have any tips on how to remove that peice such as a spot that you use the cork screw?

EXACT same problem with mine, it was so bad that i ended up pressing on the screen so hard that i broke the LCD screen. I got a replacement and isntalled it thanks to this video but the touch screen doesn't work still. So i'm getting the replacement touch screen thingy and i'll replace the old one...will let you know if it works!

Well, first try the screen. If I am not wrong, this can be done in the config(or setup) menu.

Second, the part responsible for the touch sensible interface is not the LCD. They are independent. So changing the LCD will not help.

As many people asked me what was the model i bought on ebay, the description was : "NEW HTC Touch P3450 Elf O2 XDA NOVA LCD Screen Display" it costed ~ $46 dollars.

Changing the pastic case follows the same basic steps. Just be patient and you will have no prolem to do it.

i bought the wrong lcd screen and the ribbon was to small. it ended up being a waste.... how can i find the right one? i heard there is two. i have a rogers htc touch but apparently bought a bell one. i believe i read somewhere that there is two different times. a gsm one and a sprint one that has two unique ribbons...

hello, what size of torx driver are u using? i need to repair mine. i have a bell htc touch with broken lcd and i was lucky enough to find a rogers htc touch on the ground i am trying to swap the screens

Sorry I don't remember the exactly torx driver size, but if you open the back cover of it you have direct access to the torx screws, so it's very easy to test the best fitting size.

you can buy the LCD for less than 50 dolars on ebay, including the necessary tolls to open the HTC touhc as shown on the video.
