Actually he didn't. Reactivision team which uses TUIO protocol for their reactable, uses DI technique not FTIR. DI allows you to sense fiducials/markers, FTIR does not.
no it doesn't, that's what the evil giant tries to imply. multi-touch has been around since the eighties. Apple was the first to see it's potential and capitalize on that. Basically they own a several gestures and behaviors that multi-touch is capable of.
