so fucking boring and generic. every guitar lick and riff on this album is so generic, chad doesn't have room to really shine because of it, mikey's backing vocals are good but he's never been that great of a bassist, and sam can't make up his mind whether he wants to write serious lyrics or goofy lyrics and it just gets stuck somewhere in between in meaninglessness. such a disappointing band.
at least van halen sounds like fucking DLR van halen should sound. new album kicks so much ass.

Dave is back. Not a good singer, a good showman. Tatoo is regurgitated pop music and it will find an audience. I wish VH luck.They wrote cheezy songs with a genius guitarist. no one said he was a rocket scientist, but he''s a blazing guitarist. Period. He's a human just ike the rest of us and succummed to the drugs and booze that happens to people. He's trying to make a comeback.This is not a matter of I'm right,you're wrong, It's about personal taste. I just like well written songs, that's all.
Of course the kids spend more money, but that money for all the boy bands comes from mommy and daddy. These musicians write their own music the same way they have for decades and it's kick you in the ass rock and roll. I think this is just a way more intelligent band than VH. Sammy brought VH to life for 11 years and ED screwed it up. Now he's moved on and his intelligence brought him another gold album at only 65 years old. When I read the lyrics to "Tatoo" I laughed and said Pop music!
Just started listening to this album, it seems already that they're... more of a band now, and feel much happier playing with each other which is great :D (not saying they didn't in the first album, but here they are much... more comfortable? it sounds)

This song kicks ass. I love the Biblical references in the chorus, makes it feel like a song that could've fit well in the 80's, 90's, and today. Something I'll bet becomes a crowd favorite live.
