Hi id got a new dog at the animal welfare shes small and its a Terrier when I take her outside too use the bathroom, she only lays down not using the bathroom but she keep going on the rug I keep take her outside 3 times its not working and still keeps going on the rug, not sure if the other owners train her indoors, and not outdoor, my dog Maggie is about 5 months old, please help, thanks
i think the comprehension could be made more apparent and direct if you simply hung the bells on the door knob. each time you exited as part of the go-outside-to-go-potty, you take his paw and tap the bell....praise....and go outside with the action phrase, e.g. go potty, got to go, gesundheit...whatever
@waltrmitty Then he would just associate the bell with going outside rather than only to go potty and would ring the bell whenever he wanted out to play.
if you give him a treat for touching the bells than i thought he would associate touching the bells for a treat instead of associating the bells for going outside
Video only shows how to ring the bell, nothing about how to make dog use bell for bathroom.

Thanks for your kind words about PoochieBells!

This would probably be easier if your dog allready knew the "touch" command. She is accidentally reinforcing mugging her hand for treats
