Ok, am going to give a pass to the religious healing opinion. Not that I have anything against it but its a door I don't want to open on YouTube. I think the most likely cause is in this one case is that when she got the bug it affected her brain chemistry. So some switch gets flipped and she starts to moving into a hibernation like state. Just my layman opinion. Until we understand the brain a lot more than we do I dont think this sort of thing is going to be solved anytime soon. very sad

She has Kleine-Levin Syndrome. She's not the first, not the last. It's very rare, but happens suddenly to both men and women, though it happens more to men.

And if you watched the video, you would know that her parents DO try to shake her awake, but she'll only wake up for a max of 2 hours. It's just a basic fact of the disease; victims will sleep for longs periods of time, off and on, with episodes lasting anywhere from 4-10 yrs.

I have this syndrome. It sucks! I was homeschooled for 2 years. BTW any kind of cafeen drink does NOT help. If you are gonna have an episode, it's gonna happen. The worst part is that nobody has heard of KLS, so when I try to explain it to them, they don't even begin to understand the power of this syndrome and that there is NO WAY of stopping it!
