acutally after one year it started to crash. it was overheating very fast when i was playing indie games or TF2. i cant affrod to play the games you mentioned because after one hour it shut downs because of overheating

@Legacyyyy My 5741G was shutting down when I was playing Arma 2 because of over heating and always got BSOD after it I eventually had to buy a cooling pad for it but that didn't even help the fan on it is junk!

@Legacyyyy I have the 330M version, and no problems at all, although I purchased it mainly for professional use. I suggest that every laptop including the Aspire 5741G should be used on flat surfaces away from dust and very hot environments, and not to be used on your bed on top of sheets and blankets, if don't want the system to overheat. This is just a few suggestions of many, to prolong the life of your laptop/netbook computer.

ofc i dont play games in my bed xD but sometimes i used to stay with thim like that.

3 weeks ago i went to a notebook shop to clea it. they opened my notebook and used a solution on my pieces of hardware. now is not overheating anymore and i can play the indie games with no problem.

it get hot and shuts down on you without any warning! And the fan sound like a whole fabric.

if i manage to solve those problems its an excellent unit.

@xXPr0L3genDzXx the model with the i5 processor has a 512 mb video card..i don't know if the video card is goog enough to play gta 4 or other games like it. Anyway I still have to wait 2 months to buy a laptop so i'm sure they will make another discount for a wicked laptop :)

well take a 1024 or better video card. gt540m is good or gtx485m or sth. else but dont take an amd or a nvidia with 300 numbers or others. take one of the 400 series or 500 series. they´re the best.

Cool, i have same model, same parts except the processor(i3 330M it says on the sticker but inside I found a 350M) & HDD (500gb). I wanted to get the same config as you have but I made the mistake of trusting others :(. The difference in money between you're config & mine form the same shop was about 5 Euros.

Depending on how much you bought it for, that thing is bad gaming wise if it lags when you play Just Cause2

@MaxPower491 I got this same model only i got the 8GB memory and 640HDD. And the top of the laptop (where you saw the face of the guy) is metallic/plastic, so it just looks a bit neeter IMO. BUT i have to say for this price, the build quality is shocking, i can take the plastic away around the screen with my fingers, it doesnt feel cheap but it also doesnt feel like the build quality is great.

Se destaca por ser un modelo orientado más para el negocio aunque con poder suficiente para la multimedia en general, no se considera un portátil orientado para juegos de ultísima generación, funciona muy bien con algunos titulos actuales. He apostado por ahora con ACER, a la espera que no ocurre nada en cuanto a averias. Lo llevo usando por ahora desde Junio 2010.

yes man. i have the laptop since july and played wow on it untill the end of september on skullcrusher. i played with medium grapphics because it was lagging , bad connection here in dnemark ;p , but when u level u can play with high , but in major cities, on every pc is lagging. but it pretty smooth when you level on high graph. and i played tf2 too on it ;p , no problem. also played mafia 2 on high :p

like 800 euros. i dont have any problems untill now ;p i dont play games anymore on it because i buyed and xbox. but he can run the latest games like fifa11,brotherhood,mafia2 etc. nut at full high graph , but medium.

good enough to play latest games as i said but not a full. if u want a real gaming experience you buy a full destkop or console. but with a laptop like at this at 800 euro you can play whatever you want for fun but not for the best experince gaming . hmm at movies , i usually watch bluray but is not such good as my lcd monitor back in romania 24 inches :D

il folosesc zilnic de o sapt incoa. deocamdata nici o problema dar nici nu am jucat jocuri pe el decat starcraft2 si just cause la inceput. wow nu are probleme si nici cs. numai ca e pe win7 si e mai naspa cu 1.6. iti merge si cod6. vreau sa vad daca imi va merge mafia2

u can play with maximum/high settings but it will frame a littel. i think that are mixed between maximum/medium in my video

Salut, am o rugaminte la tine. Te rog sa-mi spui daca iti functioneaza setarile automate la camera web. La mine nu a mers instalat decat driverul LiteOn (mai multe versiuni), dar nu am putut sa modific unele setari, parca ar fi sterse. Am incercat si o noua versiune de driver pentru placa video si un nou directx. Nu stiu daca exista vreo metoda sa rezolv problema. Tie ti-a mers din prima cu setarile??

stiu ca mie mi-a mers sa insatlez doar un drive din alea de pe cd ptr webcam. inca nu am umblat la setari ptr ca nu a fost nevoie , imaginea a fost destul de buna si am zis ca numai are rost. de marti incolo cand plec spre universitate il voi folosi mai mult. iti voi da atunci mai multe detalii , momentan il tin bine :D .

mie imi place , gta4 / just cause2 / assasins2 imi merg fara probleme. de incalzit mi-am luat cooler pentru el care e 85 lei. inca nu l-am lucrat atat de mult incat sa iti zic daca merita. culoarea nu conteaza , conteaza ce e inauntru :D
