@destrucciontotal3050 en serio? A mi macbook pro le pasa lo que le pasa a este en el tercer "encendido" 00:16 estoy completamente desesperadaaa! auxiliooooooooo!!!!
Have a macbook here. Im more a PC myself but was about to pack it up and sell it on ebay; whacked in the power for a moment to see if I could get ANYTHING outta it and it worked. Perfectly. Now it is stuck doing this. ._.
I encountered this today due to the GPU issue. I just wanted to add to those who want to transfer their data off like me that a temporary workaround that worked for me was to close it, turn it over, and press with the force of like a 14 year old inward near the center of the computer(somewhat below and including the battery). I think somehow that reseated the GPU or something and it finally booted up for me so I can backup.
Follow up on my problem. I brought it back in to the only apple repair place in 50 miles. Besides the logic board (which may be this problem), it had a problem with the pins that connect to the power from the computer side. Luckily I have insurance for this product so I didn't lose my $1700 from this lemon of an Apple.
Dude, i had the same problem 4 days ago, and i just got it FIXED!
You need to first, do all the stuff they tell u to do at the apple website... check the power cord, battery, RAM..... all that bla bla bla. IF nothing of that helps, u need to take it to the apple store. I took mine, even tho it was 2 years out of warranty, and talked to the guys at the genius bar. They tested my mac and noticed my graphics chip was busted. They replaced for FREE and sent me to my place. DO THAT!!! U will get it!

apple will replace this without question most likely, if warranty is still valid.. thats why apple pwns, they actually try to help when you have a problem, and dont shit on your face like microsoft
I had this same exact problem and found the craziest way to fix it. hold down the power button and shake the computer violently. this is not a joke. i'm even posting this on the computer that failed.
@Cyconerd DUDE HOLY S*** YOU JUST SAVED MY NIGHT AS I WAS ABOUT TO CRY... I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT WORKED... YOU ARE A GODSEND!!!! I just shook it violently... the old spit and glue tricks work best eh? Serious... I'm a DJ and Producer and I ONLY use this computer for work... it's my life. When it didn't turn on I was about to start applying to fast food chains...
I went to the Apple store in the UK with this exact same problem and it is indeed the LOGIC BOARD. Good news is that it doesn't effect your memory but bad news is that if your not in warrenty, it's gonna cost £300 to fix. Apple can do it in 4 weeks time but if you need it sooner they forward you onto thier trusted retailers and they have it done in about a week! Hope this helps you P.S. DONT PANIC! :D
Hmm, it's strange though. after a while i've been dealing with this very same problem, i looked at my Acer notebook and to my surprise, it has never die once on me since 6 years. Why Apple doing this to us? Their notebook is so fragile nowadays.
NO NO! It's not battery. I watched this clip and read comments so i went to eBay and got myself a new battery. However, that did not solve my problem. Now, i decided to try another repair shop. They looked at it and told me: it's either the video card or logic board problem. They will call me and let me know which one. I'll update back here soon.
i hav the same problem.. i changed 3 logic board but that did not solve the problem.. i tried to open and clean so i hope the problem could be resolved
Hi, i wonder what happened to your useless logic boards. So, if it's not logic board's fault then you logic board must be in working condition then. Or were they? Thanks
I guess ur battery is dead, I believe that the mac pulls its power from the battery if the battery is present first before the magsafe power. OR have you left the battery charged for a while?
(I know this video is old but I'm looking into getting a mac)
There is a problem with the Mac Book Pro. My Mac only cuts on when it wants too. Right now, it not turning on at all. Mac knows about this problem. They should fix it reguardless of apple care or not.
I have a similar problem, I sent a video to my apple repair location. They said that Apple had a problem with a board and that they are extending the warranty on that problem. I hate apples now, due to this effed up problem I will never get another.
Yep, this is the common problem of the Macbook Pro. This one wasnt tested enough before going out. I had the same thing and had it replaced for free. I think it is probably the only thing that Apple cant hold their head high about. But, Windows is one big ol' collection of problems,
guys could somebody help me? i have the new 13" macbook pro (the alluminum one) and when I start it up the screen stays gray for a while, then an Earth image starts to flash and then the apple logo appears(after that, the computer works perfectly) and I just wanna know what is happening and what could I do in order to stop this start-up problem. If ANYONE knows what to do, PLEASE! tell me :) thanks
I don't know what's going on but hold the shift key when starting up. it will take a while to start up and only do this once, if the problem still continues take it to an apple genius.
I had a situation when my battery was at 60%, the computer will not work off the battery. It would shut down and it would not boot up unless I was on AC power. It could be a battery issue.
lol macs don't get viruses at all their built on Unix and are immune to viruses, do you honestly think something that is free is 100% gonna protect your PC, I have used macs for 10 years never had any problems with them, I've had one kernel panic or crash to you windows users that was on my PowerMac G4, and thats because i added a cheap crap PC hard drive to it. I use final cut studio and Logic studio their are no apps comparable to that on a PC, if you need to macs can also run windows
I almost pissed myself laughing at the "Unix is immune to viruses". NOTHING. IS. IMMUNE. TO. VIRUSES. NOTHING. EVER. The fact that Macs don't really get any viruses is not due to the fact that it is immune. It's because noone BUYS the damn things, so noone tries to make a new virus. No point if there's no place to spread it. Oh, and I have used both Windows and Mac for quite some time now. I still choose Windows to this day. Always. That's why you combine Freeware with a firewall.
You tried putting a hard drive into a computer BEFORE you even knew it was going to work? You fail doubly for that! And this PC, this one I am using, is custom made. $1500, runs circles around your shitty little OS X. That's just the way it works. Cheaper than a Mac, yet better! Oh and I've been using Windows for about 12 years now. No problems. Some mechanical here and there, but not something that can't be easily fixed. Enjoy your Macintrash.
What's that? I can't hear you over the sounds of the various new video games that I'm playing on my PC that Macs don't have! Oh well, I'm sure it was nothing important or relevant...
I've tried Halo 2 & Crysis on my mac pro under windows vista it ran perfect, no lag at all, my mac pro specs are 2.8Ghz 8 Intel Core Xeon, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600, an amazing rendering card for my 3d production classes, but since i never game, there was no point in buying them the power is for my editing skills, not for gaming, the games like such as sims & sim city are on the mac anyway
That happened to mine after I got leopard. It turned on for a little bit longer than yours and then shuts off. My battery was fine and new...ish but I got a new battery and now it does not do that. If your mac is still under warranty you can get a free battery, if that is your problem, if you give your battery in. But I would call the support number and ask them first. The number is : 1-800-275-2273.
My battery died after a year, my screen got this weird stain that impossible to get rid off and the laptop often overheated and making weird noises. I think Apple doesn't spend enough time inspecting the quality of their products. They just try to get it out into the market for some doughs. This will be my first and last macbook pro.
you shoulda brought it to apple during the 1 year service time you had left.... i hope your macbook pro gets better.... cuz its one expensive piece of equipment!
that CD Rom drive you took out and then it worked, It may refuse to start because of a faulty CD Rom drive. Get that replaced, or have them look at it, That's likely the problem.
No, he says: Hol doch mal die Maus raus, they are German. Anyway, the thing is pretty fuckt up. Try getting a new batt. Or check what happens if you boot it up with the system recovering dvd's.
Your Macbook Pro is in need for a battery replacement or charge. Mine did that and I tried charging it a couple of times, and when that didn't work I bought a new battery and it was fine.
i have the samme problem i just go to apple store and they change my batery with out problems this must be the samme problem like in 2006 when the apple have make battery repair action or someting like that the sony baterriaes ar sucks!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Your a fucking dumbass yourself you know that! Its always the PC user that have to call tech support and call people on the phone for help! At school, they use eMacs. And when they dont boot up, I can fix them in under 3 minutes. And Im only 13 too!
i NEVER called tehc support and never met anyone who have because thay know me in the 12 ranked best white hat hacker in the world and can fix just about amnything pc or mac without evin thinking about it also you probly can only fix it under 3 min because it breaks every 2 min
wow, you're probably, what? 15? Thought you'd impress us with your knowledge of the term "White Hat hacker?" Bring some proof or get a life. You argue just like a 13 year old. Some wonderful hacker you are, you can't even type without spelling "the" correctly. I bet that helps out a lot when you're hacking away.
i've noticed that when you attack the power adapter to a MBP that is fully charged the adapter stops providing power after 5 sec if the laptop isn't on. Just take it off and put it back on and it starts.
A PRAM reset might do it. My iBook from cold, could take anything up to 10 minutes just to get to the happy mac (frustrating) and buying a new battery didn't totally fix the problem. I rest the PRAM a few minutes ago after hearing it does the trick so it may well work for you too.
TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AND THEN HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 20 SECONDS. THEN AS SOON AS YOU TURN IT SON, HOLD DOWN THE COMMAND-OPTION-P-R- KEYS UNTIL YOU HEAR THE START-UP SOUND A SCEOND TIME.
NEED HELP?
need help with a mac o9r pc, just email me at computerguy105 @ mac com or IM me at cumputerguy95
get out the os x disk that came with the macbook. put it in and restart. hold down the c key while booting to boot from the DVD, once booted go to the top menu and open disk utility. Once in disk utility repair your main volume. this will fix it unless it a hardware problem
based on the articles I've read, the logic board was my assumption too. Well after picking it up from repair they "said" that they replaced the logic board, but the failure came back (with the original AC adaptor). Se my other post for details ("Re: MacBook Pro start-up problem"). I was really disappointed but finally got my money back. Now I have a FUJITSU-SIEMENS amilo (and I am very happy with it).

If your mac is still under warranty you can get a free battery, if that is your problem, if you give your battery in. But I would call the support number and ask them first. The number is : 1-800-275-2273.

WOW... you oughtta take that baby to get it fixed... that could be a serious crash issue.
BiteThis2007 3 years ago
My battery died after a year, my screen got this weird stain that impossible to get rid off and the laptop often overheated and making weird noises. I think Apple doesn't spend enough time inspecting the quality of their products. They just try to get it out into the market for some doughs. This will be my first and last macbook pro.

Sounds like a possible cold solder issue, or a bad battery. I hope you got it fixed seeing this was posted in jan of 2007

Did it come with the hardware test CD? If so, boot from that (hold down C as it boots) and see if all the hardware is working properly.

Well, I'm stupid, That's not CDROM Drive. XD. Yeah, Get new battery.
PCessna 3 years ago
that CD Rom drive you took out and then it worked, It may refuse to start because of a faulty CD Rom drive. Get that replaced, or have them look at it, That's likely the problem.
PCessna 3 years ago
its not finding the operating system

Thats weird, usually the bong sound means everything works fine. I wonder why removing the optical drive fixed it.
Btroisi13 3 years ago
Your Macbook Pro is in need for a battery replacement or charge. Mine did that and I tried charging it a couple of times, and when that didn't work I bought a new battery and it was fine.

Your a fucking dumbass yourself you know that! Its always the PC user that have to call tech support and call people on the phone for help! At school, they use eMacs. And when they dont boot up, I can fix them in under 3 minutes. And Im only 13 too!
Btroisi13 3 years ago
i NEVER called tehc support and never met anyone who have because thay know me in the 12 ranked best white hat hacker in the world and can fix just about amnything pc or mac without evin thinking about it also you probly can only fix it under 3 min because it breaks every 2 min
alexanderbam 3 years ago
really and how old are you? Are you comparng your amazing record against the record of a 13 year old boy who fixes eMacs for fun?

wow, you're probably, what? 15? Thought you'd impress us with your knowledge of the term "White Hat hacker?" Bring some proof or get a life. You argue just like a 13 year old. Some wonderful hacker you are, you can't even type without spelling "the" correctly. I bet that helps out a lot when you're hacking away.

the power plug was clearly being used in the video... it shows that it started working after he pulled out the cd drive or whatever that was..

i've noticed that when you attack the power adapter to a MBP that is fully charged the adapter stops providing power after 5 sec if the laptop isn't on. Just take it off and put it back on and it starts.
Go figure...

no it's hooked up to the AC adapter so that's not the problem. i think this MacBook Pro is suffering from RSS (random shutdown syndrome)

A PRAM reset might do it. My iBook from cold, could take anything up to 10 minutes just to get to the happy mac (frustrating) and buying a new battery didn't totally fix the problem. I rest the PRAM a few minutes ago after hearing it does the trick so it may well work for you too.
meisinscotland 4 years ago
TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AND THEN HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 20 SECONDS. THEN AS SOON AS YOU TURN IT SON, HOLD DOWN THE COMMAND-OPTION-P-R- KEYS UNTIL YOU HEAR THE START-UP SOUND A SCEOND TIME.

get out the os x disk that came with the macbook. put it in and restart. hold down the c key while booting to boot from the DVD, once booted go to the top menu and open disk utility. Once in disk utility repair your main volume. this will fix it unless it a hardware problem
emeek77 4 years ago
The same thing happened to me. I had the logic board replaced in it. Now it works fine. Did you ever get it fixed?
kinder16 4 years ago
Hi Kinder16,
based on the articles I've read, the logic board was my assumption too.
Good luck with your MacBook Pro, kinder16!
Best regards,
